Ce document est la première édition des orientations relatives aux stratégies de lutte anti-infectieuse à mettre en œuvre en cas de suspicion d’infection par un nouveau coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Il a été adapté du document de l’OMS intitulé P...révention et lutte contre les infections lors de la prise en charge de cas probables ou confirmés d’infection par le coronavirus du syndrome respiratoire du Moyen-Orient (MERS-CoV)(1), sur la base des connaissances actuelles de la situation en Chine et dans d’autres pays où des cas ont été identifiés, et de l’expérience acquise sur le syndrome respiratoire aigu sévère (SRAS)-CoV et le MERS-CoV (2).

Ante este escenario, se debe considerar si el establecimiento de salud está organizado para garantizar la gestión integr...al de la respuesta hospitalaria, el funcionamiento de los mecanismos de coordinación, el manejo integral de la información, las capacidades logísticas para facilitar la respuesta, y los recursos necesarios para su ejecución, así como para una respuesta integral a los pacientes, precautelando la salud y bienestar de los trabajadores de salud. El 30 de enero de 2020, el Director General de la OMS declaró el brote de la enfermedad coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) como emergencia de salud pública de interés internacional (PHEIC por sus siglas en inglés) bajo al Reglamento Sanitario Internacional (RSI 2005), siguiendo el asesoramiento del Com...ité de Emergencia del RSI. El 4 de febrero de 2020, el Director General de la OMS informó al Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas y pidió que se activara la política de gestión de crisis de las Naciones Unidas para establecer un equipo de gestión de crisis (CMT por sus siglas en inglés) que coordinara la ampliación a todo el sistema de las Naciones Unidas para ayudar a los países a prepararse para COVID-19 y responder a esta. Una pandemia es la propagación mundial de una nueva enfermedad. Las pandemias son acontecimientos impredecibles pero recurrentes que pueden afectar considerablemente a la salud, las comunidades y las economías de todo el mundo. La planificación y la preparación son fundamentales para ayudar a mitigar el riesgo y el impacto de una pandemia, y para gestionar la respuesta y la recuperación.

En diciembre del 2019 se comunicó a la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) la ocurrencia de varios casos de neumonía en Wuhan, una ciudad situada en la provincia China de Hubei.
En una crisis de salud pública como la actual pandemia de COVID-19, cuando se implementan medidas de “distanciamiento social” para frenar la propagación de la infección, las personas que enfrentan cualquier tipo de violencia basada en género, como violencia de pareja íntima, violencia psico...lógica, física o sexual, pueden correr riesgos adicionales. Muchas de las personas sobrevivientes de violencia basada en género (VBG) se encuentran encerradas en los mismos espacios con los agresores durante períodos prolongados de tiempo, lo cual limita su privacidad y su capacidad de huir de la violencia y exacerba las amenazas a su vida, salud e integridad.

Como respuesta al COVID-19 en la región, los ministerios de educación de 23 países y 12 estados independientes de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) han cerrado las escuelas de forma progresiva a nivel de la educación preescolar, primaria y secundaria desde marzo de 2020. Como resultado, se estim...a que alrededor de 154 millones de niños, niñas y adolescentes han sido afectados en la región (cifra que incluye alrededor de 12 millones de niños, niñas y adolescentes que estaban fuera de la escuela antes de la pandemia).

mettant l’accent sur un meilleur accès aux interventions à haut impact et le renforcement du système de santé.
L’objectif général du dossier d’investissement est de réaliser des progrès vers une couverture sanitaire universelle en matière de la SRMNIA auprès des populations-cibles grâce à un accès accru d’un paquet complet d’interventions à haut impact de qualité et à la protection contre le risque financier (en termes de mise en œuvre des politiques sur la gratuité des services).

Alors que de nombreux pays touchés par le COVID-19 au cours des premiers mois de l'année commencent maintenant à assouplir les mesures de confinement à mesure que les taux d'infection et de mortalité diminuent, dans les régions les plus touchées par le VIH, la tuberculose et le paludisme, com...me l'Afrique, l'Asie du Sud et l'Amérique latine, la pandémie continue de s'accélérer. Dans les environnements à faibles ressources, les mesures de confinement sont moins efficaces et difficiles à maintenir, et les installations de soins cliniques sont extrêmement limitées. Dans de tels environnements, la réponse à COVID-19 doit se concentrer sur l'endiguement de la propagation de la pandémie par le dépistage, la recherche des contacts et l'isolement, la protection du personnel de santé par la formation et la fourniture d'équipements de protection individuelle (EPI) et la réduction de l'impact sur d'autres maladies par le renforcement des systèmes de santé fragiles et l'adaptation des programmes existants.
