Cette version révisée et actualisée de l’ouvrage incorpore l’expérience acquise lors de catastrophes récentes, comme le typhon Haiyan qui a touché les Philippines en 2013, l’épidémie d’Ebola qui s’est déclarée en Afrique de l’Ouest en 2014 et 2015, et le tremblement de terre qui a frappé le Népal en 2015. Elle comporte également plusieurs annexes traitant de diverses questions, telles que la prise en charge des dépouilles des victimes d’une épidémie de maladie infectieuse, la planification des sites d’inhumation et l’utilisation des analyses ADN lors de catastrophes de grande ampleur.

The Sierra Leone National Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines were jointly developed and updated by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
As of 25 September 2022, a cumulative number of 18 confirmed and 18 probable cases have been reported from Mubende, Kyegegwa and Kassanda districts, including 23 deaths, of which five were among confirmed cases (CFR among confirmed cases 28%). This is the first Ebola disease outbreak caused by Sudan... virus (SUDV) in Uganda since 2012.

This new living guideline is written to accompany the optimized supportive care (oSoC) for EVD standard operating procedures (5, 6). Elle porte sur les domaines suivants : transmission de la MVE (en s’intéressant en particulier aux mesu...res de lutte contre l’infection) ; diagnostic de la maladie ; et prise en charge des cas, avec une présentation générale des centres de traitement d’Ebola (CTE) et des informations sur les traitements expérimentaux. Ces modules présentent des stratégies complètes sur la sécurité des patients et des agents de soins et la préparation à la riposte. La formation pourra être utile aux cliniciens de tout secteur du système de santé, notamment ceux qui travaillent dans des postes de santé, prodiguent des soins de santé primaires ou sont employés par des hôpitaux nationaux ou de district. Une attention particulière est accordée aux soins dispensés dans les CTE.
