Chaque principe est accompagné d'indicateurs, de commentaires et d'études de cas de...stinés à aider le lecteur à mieux comprendre les concepts sur lesquels les principes sont fondés et la manière dont ils peuvent être mis en pratique. Les principes et les indicateurs sont destinés à s'appliquer au personnel international et national ainsi qu'au personnel de bureau et de terrain, en reconnaissant que des ajustements peuvent être nécessaires pour tenir compte des besoins et des caractéristiques uniques de chaque groupe et de l'organisation. Ils constituent un outil d'apprentissage, de réflexion et de planification plutôt qu'un ensemble de règles ou de solutions rigides applicables en toutes circonstances.

The end of the first half of the year was marked by the announcement of tighter immigration measures in Peru ...and Chile, which triggered a significant peak in flows from Venezuela entering Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. In response to this, UNICEF Country Offices activated contingency measures and capacities for registration and provision of services were rapidly increased, in coordination with relevant authorities, to face the increased demand.

Community-based approaches to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (CB MHPSS) in emergencies are based on the understanding that communities can be drivers for their own care and change and should be meaningfully involved in all stages of MHPSS responses. Emergency-affected people are first a...nd foremost to be viewed as active participants in improving individual and collective well-being, rather than as passive recipients of services that are designed for them by others. Thus, using community-based MHPSS approaches facilitates families, groups and communities to support and care for others in ways that encourage recovery and resilience. These approaches also contribute to restoring and/or strengthening those collective structures and systems essential to daily life and well-being. An understanding of systems should inform community-based approaches to MHPSS programmes for both individuals and communities.

An important aim of the training package is to get it integrated into the regular paramedical/rehabilitation training programs such as physiotherapy,... occupational therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, rehabilitation nursing. Towards this, WHO is posting the whole training package in the Website for the training institutes and wheelchair service providers.
