As the population and the indu...strial industry in Ba Ria Vung Tau Province is growing significantly, an appropriate wastewater management and treatment is required for the further social and economic development of the region. The project will connect households to the sewer system, rehabilitate and extend a semi-separate sewer system, establish a wastewater treatment plant and improve capacities at the new sewage and drainage company, BUSACO. This should also serve as a basis for the enforcement of industrial wastewater treatment. BUSACO will directly benefit of the project, the indirect but key beneficiaries are the approximately 90'000 inhabitants of the growing Ba Ria municipality and the population downstream of Dinh river and Thu Luu ditch. The project will be financed under the Mixed Financing Line II.

The overall objective of the T...ADAT Trust Fund is to establish a methodology and a tool for assessing tax administration performance, the Tax Administration Diagnostic and Assessment Tool (TADAT). The activities include the drafting of the diagnostic tool itself (the TADAT), the definition of the institutional setting ant governance structure around the TADAT, the establishment of the TADAT Secretariat, the conduct of pilot diagnostic assessments, and the establishment of appropriate quality assurance mechanisms. Unlike for budget or debt management, there is currently no reference tool for assessing the performance of tax administrations. However, establishing such a diagnostic tool is crucial for identifying main weaknesses in the process of collecting taxes, establishing priorities and guiding the efforts of countries that seek to mobilize additional domestic resources. The TADAT aims at bridging an important gap for assessing the performance of PFM systems. TADAT is conceived as a drill-down tool for an evidence-based analysis of the tax administration sub-systems performance against well-established good practices.

The project carried out by the... Advisor on Torture Prevention of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the principal institution of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) responsible for the human dimension, is designed around the main purpose of enhancing the prevention of torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment in law and practice in the OSCE region. More specifically, the project aims at 1) empowering the national preventive mechanisms (NPM) of the region by facilitating exchange of experience and best practices; 2) promoting the implementation of the revised UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (Nelson Mandela Rules) by developing a guidance document and training program.

En tant qu'organisation de dé...veloppement des églises protestantes suisses, Pain pour le Prochain a le mandat d'informer et de former, de s'engager dans la politique de développement et d'assurer la qualité. Pain pour le Prochain et les onze œuvres partenaires forment une communauté de coopération (KoGe)[1] qui est un réseau d'apprentissage avec des objectifs spécifiques. Ce réseau permet notamment de joindre le travail de politique de développement en Suisse et le travail au Sud. Son objectif commun est de contribuer à une transformation du système et des comportements économiques, sociaux, politiques et écologiques.
