This video explains what antibiotics and the microbiome are, how they work, and side effects that patients may experience. It also provides helpful questions for patients and their families to ask their health care providers when they have been prescribed antibiotics.
Haematologica has published European guidelines for empirical and targeted antibacterial therapy forfebrile neutropenic patients in the era of emerging resistance (ECIL-4). Indeed, collateral damage by broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy includes selection of multidrugresistant pathogens, and incr...eased predisposition to infec-tion by fungi and Clostridium difficile. Antibiotic resistance has become a major public health concern, with fears expressed that we will soon run out of antibiotics.

Infectious diseases like COVID-19 can disrupt the environments in which children grow and develop. Disruptions to families, friendships, daily routines and the wider community can have negative consequences for children’s well-being, development and protection. In addition, measures used to preven...t and control the spread of COVID-19 can expose children to protection risks. Home-based, facility-based and zonal-based quarantine and isolation measures can all negatively impact children and their families.
The aim of this brief is to support child protection practitioners to better respond to the child protection risks during a COVID-19 pandemic. Part 1 presents the potential child protection risks COVID-19 can pose to children. Part 2 presents programmatic options in line with the 2019 Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS) and the Guidance Note: Protection of Children During Infectious Disease Outbreaks.

Please note that this video is also available on youtube , with the minor addition of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kenya in the credits, as it is now endorsed as part of national training activities for AMR in Kenya.
Many of the medical breakthroughs of the last century could be lost through the spread of antimicrobial resistance. Previously curable infectious diseases may become untreatable and spread throughout the world. This has already started to happen.

You don't always need antibiotics when you're sick—only for infections caused by bacteria. And overuse is causing a global health problem.
AWaRe Website with different information material
How does antibiotic resistance spread?
Antibiotic resistance is the ability of bacteria to combat the action of one or more antibiotics.
Humans and animals do not become resistant to antibiotic treatments, but bacteria carried by humans and animals can.
