The CHS is a voluntary and measurable standard, which means its application can be objectively assessed. The CHS Verification Scheme allows organisations to measure the extent to which they have successfully applied the CHS requirements, and allows them, to demonstrate that they have done so. The Sc...heme offers four verification options; although each option is stand alone, the indicators used in the self-assessment are common to all options.

This paper provides a very good understanding of the CHAST approach with its development and tools.
Each unit builds on the one prior, and they all combine to provide key information for developing an SBCC strategy. It is not essential, however, to work through the I-Kit from start to finish. Users can choose to focus on specific aspects for which they need support in their emergency communication... response. The nine units and corresponding worksheets are outlined in the I-Kit Site Navigator.
