Nurses at present are facing various personal, interpersonal, professional, institutional and socio cultural challenges in their professional performance. Dealing with these issues may not be always clear. The lack of one correct approach in addressing different conte...xtual issues may lead to ethical dilemmas. Responding to this complex issues demand nurses to acquire comprehensive ethical knowledge and skills in various decision making process. Although teaching materials have a pivotal role to play in helping nurses in this endeavor, comprehensive books inclusive of all the topics in the curriculum is scarce in Ethiopia. Therefore, this lecture note is prepared to overcome the acute shortage of reference materials reflecting the national context and be used as a teaching material for nurses at various levels. Ce rapport identifie les principales lacunes mondiales dans les services WASH : un tiers des établissements de santé ne dispose pas des installations de lavage des mains nécessaires sur les lieux de soins ; un établissement sur quatre n’a pas de services de base pour l’approvisionnement en e...au, et un sur dix n’a pas de services d’assainissement. Cela signifie qu’1,8 milliard de personnes utilisent des installations dépourvues de services de base pour l’approvisionnement en eau et 800 millions des installations sans toilettes. Dans les 47 pays les moins avancés du monde, le problème est encore plus grave : la moitié des établissements de santé ne dispose pas de services de base pour l’approvisionnement en eau. Qui plus est, l’ampleur du problème demeure méconnue car des lacunes importantes dans les données persistent, en particulier pour ce qui concerne le nettoyage de l’environnement.

22 April 2022, This document provides updated interim recommendations on the use of masks by health workers providing care to patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. This update is prompted by new evidence around mask use and COVID-19 transmission, as well as the emergence of variants of conc...ern including Omicron. Masks continue to be a critical tool to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These interim guidelines supersede the recommendations provided in the WHO recommendations on mask use by health workers, in light of the Omicron variant of concern published on 22 December 2022.
WHO continually evaluates the emerging evidence and will review these interim recommendations within two months and issue new guidance as needed.

Lymphatic filariasis (LF) infection if untreated results in fluid accumulation in the limbs or breasts (lymphedema) or genitalia (hydrocele) that is painful and causes great discomfort. Morbidity management and disability prevention (MMDP) strategies such as surgery for hydrocele, treatment of acute... attacks and management of lymphedema are necessary for the management of the advanced stages of LF. However, very few countries including Zambia, have adequate information on the health beliefs and health seeking behavior of communities living in endemic areas towards MMDP services for LF. This study sought to explore community and health provider perspectives towards MMDP services for LF in a highly endemic region, Luangwa District, Zambia, between February and April 2019.
