Members of Pig Vet Society (PVS) SA hereby commit themselvesto put these guidelines into good use in order to preserve the future and effectiveness of antimicrobials. This interim guidance is for LTCF managers and corresponding infection prevention and control (IPC) focal persons in LTCF and updates the guidance published in March 2020. The objective of this document is to provide guidance on IPC in LTCFs in the context of COVID-19 to 1) prevent COVID-19-virus fr...om entering the facility and spreading within the facility, and 2) to support safe conditions for visiting through the rigorous application of IPC procedures for the residents’ well-being. In Kenya, the bacterial infections that contribute most to human disease are often those in which re-‐sistance is most evident. Examples are multidrug-‐resistant enteric bacterial pathogens such as typhoid, ... diarrhoeagenic Escherichia coli and invasive non-‐typhi salmonella, penicillin-‐resistant Streptococcus pneu-‐moniae, vancomycin-‐resistant enterococci, methicillin-‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus and multidrug-‐re-‐sistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Resistance to medicines commonly used to treat malaria is of particu-‐lar concern, as is the emerging resistance to anti-‐HIV drugs. Often, more expensive medicines are required to treat these infections, and this becomes a major challenge in resource-‐poor settings.

Les organismes résistants aux antimicrobiens (RAM) sont de plus en plus répandus à l'échelle mondiale, menaçant de rendre inefficaces les traitements existants contre les nombreuses maladies infectieuses. Il a déjà été établi qu’en Afrique la résistance aux antimicrobiens est un problè...me pour le VIH et les pathogènes responsables du paludisme, de la tuberculose, de la typhoïde, du choléra, de la méningite, de la gonorrhée et de la dysenterie. Reconnaissant le besoin urgent d'agir, l'Assemblée mondiale de la Santé a adopté, en mai 2015, le Plan d'action mondial pour la résistance aux antimicrobiens. Conformément à ce Plan d'action, et pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques de l'Afrique, les Centres africains pour le contrôle et la prévention des maladies (CDC) ont créé le Réseau de surveillance de la résistance antimicrobienne (AMRSNET). L'AMRSNET est un réseau d'institutions de santé publique et de dirigeants des secteurs de la santé humaine et animale qui collaborent pour mesurer, prévenir et atténuer les dommages causés par les organismes RAM

Au cours d’une pandémie à COVID-19 une détérioration de la situation nutritionnelle des enfants et des femmes est très probablement liée à l’augmentation des prix des denrées alimentaires, la réduction de la disponibilité alimentaire et la baisse du revenu de la population suite au ral...entissement de la vie économique. Par ailleurs, la manière dont les interventions de nutrition sont offertes doit s’adapter à l’épidémie de COVID-19 pour éviter toute propagation de la maladie à COVID-19. C’est pourquoi, ce manuel est produit par le programme national de nutrition en collaboration avec le cluster nutrition et les autres partenaires pour donner des orientations sur la meilleure façon de poursuivre la mise en œuvre des interventions de nutrition en veillant aux mesures de prévention et contrôle de l’infection.

Gouvernement camerounais, l’Agence des États-Unis pour le Développement International (USAID), le Fonds
des Nations Unies pour la Population (UNFPA) et le Fonds Mondial à travers le Programme National de Lutte
contre le Paludisme (PNLP). D’autres institutions ont également apporté leur expertise à la réalisation de cette
opération. Parmi elles figurent le Centre Pasteur du Cameroun (CPC) pour l’analyse des prélèvements sanguins
afin d’estimer la prévalence du VIH, et le Centre International de Référence Chantal Biya (CIRCB) pour le
contrôle de qualité externe des tests du VIH. ICF a fourni l’assistance technique à l’ensemble du projet par le
biais du Programme Mondial des Enquêtes Démographiques et de Santé, The DHS Program, financé par
l’USAID, et dont l’objectif est de fournir un soutien et une assistance technique aux pays du monde entier pour
la réalisation des enquêtes sur la population et la santé.
