L'eau potable et les services d'assainissement et d'hygiène (WASH) sont essentiels à la prévention des 17 maladies tropicales négligées (MTN) pour lesquelles une intensification de la lutte ou l'élimination sont prévues à l'horizon 2020.
La fourniture d’eau potable et de services d’...assainissement et d’hygiène est l’une des cinq interventions clés inscrite dans la feuille de route mondiale contre les MTN. Pourtant, à ce jour, la composante WASH de la stratégie n’a reçu que peu d’attention et le potentiel lié à la mise en commun des efforts WASH et MTN reste largement inexploité.
Des efforts ciblés sur la composante WASH sont nécessaires de toute urgence pour atteindre les cibles de la feuille de route mondiale contre les MTN.

Rapport biennal de la directrice régionale
Le présent rapport annuel 2016 met en exergue la contribution du Bureau de la Représentation de l’OMS aux efforts de santé du gouvernement du Niger. Il porte sur l’état de réalisation des activités planifiées dans le plan de travail biennal 2016-2017 entre l’OMS et le Ministère de la S...anté Publique. Le panorama du paludisme a profondement changé durant la dernière décénnie. Les financements ont augmenté, les outils permettant de sauver des vies ont été mis en œuvre à plus grande échelle, la charge du paludisme a diminué et un nombre grandissant de pays envisagent son élimination.

Ce cadre actualisé fait le point sur les outils, les activités et les stratégies nécessaires pour atteindre l'élimination du paludisme et empêcher la reprise de la transmission dans les pays, quelle que soit l'étape à laquelle ils se trouvent sur la route menant à l'élimination ou l’intensité de la transmission. Le cadre est destiné à servir de référence pour élaborer des plans stratégiques d’élimination du paludisme au niveau national et doit être adapté aux contextes locaux.

Le succès de la mise en œuvre du PNAPF 2017-2020 dépendra de l’engagement de chaque entité à tous les niveaux à travers des arrangements institutionnels clairs. Il s’agit d’un document dynamique qui requerra une forte coordination des différentes parties prenantes multisectorielles. La ...mise en œuvre sera conduite par le Ministère de la Santé à travers la Direction de la Santé de la Famille (DSF). Les autres secteurs tels que les ministères connexes contribueront à favoriser l’environnement juridique et politique de la PF pour garantir l’accès de tous, notamment des jeunes aux services de PF. Les organisations de la société civile (OSC) et les PTF apporteront leur contribution à la mise en œuvre du plan, au renforcement des
capacités des acteurs en PF, au plaidoyer et à la mobilisation des ressources pour la pérennité du programme.
