METHODS: We used health information system data for January 2019 to December 2020 from the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), which provides health services for more than half of Mexico's population-65 million people. Our analysis includes nine indicators of service use and three outcome indicators for reproductive, maternal and child health and non-communicable disease services. We used an interrupted time series design and linear generalised estimating equation models to estimate the change in service use and outcomes from April to December 2020. Estimates were expressed using average marginal effects on the risk ratio scale.
RESULTS: The study found that across nine health services, an estimated 8.74 million patient visits were lost in Mexico. This included a decline of over two thirds for breast and cervical cancer screenings (79% and 68%, respectively), over half for sick child visits and female contraceptive services, approximately one-third for childhood vaccinations, diabetes, hypertension and antenatal care consultations, and a decline of 10% for deliveries performed at IMSS. In terms of patient outcomes, the proportion of patients with diabetes and hypertension with controlled conditions declined by 22% and 17%, respectively. Caesarean section rate did not change.
CONCLUSION: Significant disruptions in health services show that the pandemic has strained the resilience of the Mexican health system and calls for urgent efforts to resume essential services and plan for catching up on missed preventive care even as the COVID-19 crisis continues in Mexico.

Our work focuses on identifying Chinese-funded malaria control projects throughout Africa and linking them to official data on malaria prevalence. Ce programme qui a pour ambition d’être multisectoriel, vient renforcer les initiatives déjà mises en œuvre au sein de la communauté. A l’opposé des dispensateurs de soins à domicile (DSDOM) ou acteurs communautaires de soins, les champions communautaires sur lesquels se basera le programme en question n’auront pour objectif que la sensibilisation par la communication pour le changement de comportement. En soutien aux activités mises en œuvre par les districts et leurs partenaires, le programme vise à renforcer les capacités et l’encadrement de personnes bénévoles qui souhaitent s’impliquer ou sont déjà impliquées pour l’amélioration du cadre de vie et la santé de leur communauté et ainsi contribuer à l’élimination du paludisme au Sénégal.
Enfin, ce guide vient en complément au guide de formation sur le paludisme pour le relais communautaire, développé par le Programme National de Lutte contre le Paludisme (PNLP) en octobre 2015.

respectively, than other reproductive aged adults (15 years old and older). Globally, new infections among these key populations account for 45% of all new HIV infections. This figure is likely to be an underestimate, given the intense stigma associated with disclosing and reporting acquisition risks for HIV among gay men, people who use drugs, sex workers, and transgender people. In addition, HIV epidemics in the majority of low- and middle-income countries (90 of 120) have concentrated epidemics among key populations. In countries with more broadly generalized epidemics, risks are still not evenly distributed and key populations still shoulder disease burden that is markedly disproportionate.
