Les sections suivantes sont entièrement nouvelles : parcours de soins COVID-19, traitement des infections aiguës et chroniques, gestion des manifestations neurologiques et mentales, maladies non transmissibles, réadaptation, soins palliatifs, principes éthiques et déclaration du décès ; les chapitres précédents ont également été considérablement étoffés.

Le rapport 2020 sur la situation du personnel infirmier dans le monde : investir dans la formation, l’emploi et le leadership est publié alors que le monde assiste à un engagement politique sans précédent en faveur de la couverture sanitaire universelle. Parallèlement, notre capacité de pré...paration et de riposte d’urgence est mise à rude épreuve par la flambée actuelle de COVID-19 et les déplacements massifs de population dus aux conflits. Les infirmières et les infirmiers assurent des soins indispensables dans chacune de ces circonstances. Aujourd’hui plus que jamais, le monde a besoin qu’ils mettent pleinement à profit leurs qualifications et leur formation.

politique et sanitaire se base largement sur un mod...le hygiéniste. Ce dernier s’est déployé comme si la promotion de la santé (appelée à devenir à ses origines une «nouvelle santé publique») n’avait jamais existé, comme si tout un corpus
d’enseignements n’avait pu franchir les murs des écoles, comme si un ensemble de pratiques menées depuis un demi-siècle à différentes échelles n’avaient pas démontré leur efficacité et été reconnues scientifiquement.

Personne ne va dans un établissement de soins de santé pour tomber malade. On s’y rend pour se faire soigner, pour accoucher
ou pour se faire vacciner. Cependant, des centaines de millions de personnes s’exposent à un risque accru d’infection en cherchant à obtenir des soins dans des éta...blissements de santé dépourvus de produits de première nécessité, notamment de services d’approvisionnement en eau, d’assainissement et d’hygiène, de gestion des déchets biomédicaux et de nettoyage (services WASH). L’absence de services WASH dans les établissements de santé compromet la sécurité et la dignité des patients, tout en menaçant d’exacerber la propagation d’infections résistantes aux agents antimicrobiens et en fragilisant les efforts déployés pour améliorer la santé des enfants et des mères.

Le résumé d’orientation du Rapport de situation de l’OMS sur la santé bucco-dentaire dans le monde passe en revue les données les plus récentes sur les principales maladies bucco-dentaires, les facteurs de risque, ainsi que les défis à relever et les possibilités de réforme du système ...de santé. Le rapport établit comme constat clair que la situation de la santé bucco-dentaire dans le monde est alarmante et nécessite une action urgente. Le rapport servira de référence aux décideurs et permettra d’orienter un large éventail de parties prenantes dans différents secteurs en vue de guider les efforts de sensibilisation en faveur d’une meilleure définition des priorités en matière de santé bucco-dentaire dans les contextes mondiaux, régionaux et nationaux. En outre, le rapport fournit, par le biais d’une ressource en ligne distincte, les tout premiers profils de la santé bucco-dentaire des pays pour l’ensemble des 194 États Membres de l’OMS, donnant un aperçu unique des domaines et des marqueurs clés de la santé bucco-dentaire qui sont pertinents pour les décideurs.

L'objectif de ce projet pilote est de mitiger l’ampleur et l’impact de flambées de choléra à grande échelle en République démocratique du Congo (RDC). Avec 13 000 cas suspects et 236 décès notifiés depuis le début de l’année 2022, le choléra demeure un problème de santé publique ...en RDC. La mise en œuvre d’un plan d'action anticipatoire, qui consiste en des interventions ciblées dans les domaines de l'eau, de l'assainissement, de l’hygiène et de la santé, sera accompagnée d'un programme d'apprentissage complet visant à comprendre l'efficacité, adaptabilité et la dimension éthique du projet pilote.

dans le but de travailler ensemble dans leur...s partenariats afin de créer des projets de programme destinés à une mise en œuvre sur les deux prochaines années. Le personnel interne clé de l’OMS et les partenaires de la NPSA
(Agence nationale pour la sécurité des patients – Londres, Angleterre) et de THET (Groupe d’experts en éducation et santé tropicale) étaient également présents.

La réanimation a pour objectifs de prévenir et de pallier les différentes défaillances
viscérales aiguës. Elle s’adresse aux malades graves et est actuellement considérée
comme un élément normal de l’arsenal thérapeutique. Les médecins et les soignants ont
démontré l’utilité ...de la présence permanente 24 heures/24 et 7 jours/7 auprès des
malades graves d’une équipe hautement spécialisée. Ensemble, ils ont fait progresser les
techniques nécessaires à la prise en charge de ces malades : ventilation mécanique,
épuration extrarénale, surveillance et exploration cardiovasculaires... La réanimation
médicale née sur le terrain hospitalier a obtenu sa reconnaissance universitaire en 1969.
Le champ d’application de la réanimation s’étend à toute la pathologie et en particulier aux malades chirurgicaux. La distinction entre réanimation médicale et réanimation chirurgicale a été nécessaire pour une répartition raisonnable des tâches, surtout en
CHU, et aucunement en raison de connaissances pratiques et théoriques différentes. Cette distinction est obsolète, car il n’y a pas plusieurs façons de faire de la réanimation.

La Stratégie de riposte face à la résistance aux antipaludiques en Afrique est un document technique de sensibilisation qui se fonde sur les bases factuelles les plus solides dont on dispose et vise à réduire au maximum la menace et l’impact de la résistance aux antipaludiques de Plasmodium ...falciparum en Afrique. Elle a pour objectifs i) d’améliorer la détection de la résistance et d’assurer une riposte en temps utile ; ii) de retarder l’émergence de la résistance à l’artémisinine et aux médicaments associés utilisés dans les combinaisons thérapeutiques à base d’artémisinine (CTA) ; et iii) de freiner la sélection et la propagation des parasites résistants là où une pharmacorésistance est confirmée. Si la Stratégie cible l’Afrique, il convient de noter que la
menace de la résistance aux antipaludiques concerne tous les pays d’endémie palustre et que les interventions proposées dans le présent document sont applicables dans d’autres régions géographiques à condition d’être adaptées aux spécificités locales.

Les conflits et les guerres ont des effets catastrophiques sur la santé et le bien-être des nations, et ils ont considérablement évolué au cours des dernières décennies. Avec la forte augmentation des crises humanitaires, y compris de la violence urbaine, de plus en plus de gens sont touchés... pendant des périodes plus longues par des interruptions des services élémentaires, devenues une triste réalité.
Les interventions sanitaires et les approches novatrices face aux défis que posent les
crises humanitaires peuvent sauver des vies et atténuer les conséquences des conflits
pour les civils.
Les équipes médicales qui interviennent lors de conflits armés et dans d’autres
environnements dangereux sont fréquemment confrontées à de graves menaces pour
leur sécurité et leur sûreté. Elles doivent surmonter ces difficultés pour avoir accès
aux patients, d’autant plus qu’elles se heurtent parfois à la réticence des populations
auprès desquelles elles interviennent et qui sont parties au conflit.
Une riposte médicale fondée sur des principes se compose d’interventions cliniques
et opérationnelles inspirées et respectueuses de normes fondamentales, qui mettent
l’accent sur la qualité, la sécurité et la protection dans l’intérêt des patients.

MAAP also reviewed data from 327 hospital and community pharmacies and 16 national-level AMC datasets.

Conformément aux recommandations de divers comités de l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS), le Bureau régional de l’OMS pour l’Afrique a mis en place trois initiatives phares afin de permettre aux États Membres de la Région africaine de se préparer aux urgences de santé publique, ...de les détecter et d’y riposter. Ces programmes sont le fruit de consultations approfondies avec plus de 30 Ministres africains, ainsi qu’avec des acteurs techniques, des partenaires à travers le continent et des institutions régionales telles que le Centre africain de contrôle et de prévention des maladies (CDC-Afrique), dont les contributions ont façonné les activités prioritaires. Le présent rapport est le quatrième rapport de synthèse trimestriel sur les progrès accomplis dans la mise en œuvre des initiatives phares.
