In the last quarter century, several projects emerged to reform mental health services in Latin American and Caribbean countries. Some did not survive the difficulties that inevitably arise in processes of change, and ended up disappearing before the intended changes could be introduced. Others, how...ever, as shown in this publication, were able to overcome difficulties and meet intended objectives, effectively transforming the structure and quality of services. This report provides an update on the key facets of HIV treatment access, including the latest HIV treatment guidelines from World Health Organization (WHO), an overview on pricing for first-line, second-line, and salvage regimens, and a summary of the opportunities for – and threats to – expand...ing access to affordable antiretroviral therapy (ART).
The report is supplemented by 11 drug profiles that contain more detailed information on pricing trends and patent barriers for key antiretroviral drugs and fixed-dose combinations. Also included is an annex of conditions that define eligibility for reduced prices from 15 pharmaceutical companies.

The brief therefore details relevant hygiene promotion steps for the different treatment options.

This guidance is intended for public health authorities, organizations, and focal persons involved in decisions regarding PPE distribution, management, and use by health workers.

En una situación de crisis como la que estamos viviendo es muy probable que los profesionales de salud que atiendan a pacientes con COVID-19 avanzado, enfrenten situaciones nuevas y complejas en que se noten con limitaciones en el actuar e incapaces para toma de... decisiones difíciles.
Además, los sistemas de salud pueden verse desbordados en capacidad de atención: los servicios de emergencia, las instalaciones de hospitalización y los servicios de medicina intensiva e intermedia. La limitación de instrumental de trabajo, medicamentos, equipos de protección puede llevar a tomar medidas no compasivas ni equitativas.

Estima-se que 17,8 milhões de mulheres em todo o mundo com 18 anos ou mais viviam com o VIH em 2015, o equivalente a 51% dos adultos que viviam com o VIH. As raparigas adolescentes e as mulheres jovens são particularmente afectadas; em 2015 representavam 60 por cento dos indivíduos com idades com...preendidas entre os 15-24 anos que viviam com o VIH, e 58 por cento das infecções por VIH recentemente adquiridas entre a população jovem deste grupo etário. Em muitos países, as mulheres que vivem com o VIH não têm acesso equitativo a serviços de saúde de boa qualidade e enfrentam muitas formas de estigma e discriminação entrecruzadas. Além disso, estas mulheres são desproporcionadamente vulneráveis à violência, incluindo as violações dos seus direitos sexuais e reprodutivos.

Arbeit der Psychosozialen Zentren für Flüchtlinge und Folteropfer (PSZ): Dort soll ein sicherer Raum für Geflüchtete geschaffen werden, damit sie über ihre Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen sprechen und psychosoziale Beratung und Unterstützung erhalten können. Auf der Basis eines menschenrechtlichen... Ansatzes soll im Kontakt mit dem Hilfesystem PSZ und seinen Netzwerken zumindest ein Stück weit Gerechtigkeit hergestellt werden. Doch oftmals ist eben dieses Herstellen von Sicherheit und Gerechtigkeit das Problem: Wie kann ein solcher Raum in den PSZ geschaffen werden, wenn in der Gesellschaft zunehmend rassistische und geflüchtetenfeindliche Tendenzen präsent sind? Wenn Geflüchtete und ihre Unterkünfte angegriffen werden? Wie können auch die Mitarbeiter*innen in den Zentren eine rassismus- und diskriminierungskritische Beratungs- und Therapiepraxis ermöglichen, die Machtstrukturen im PSZ und eigene Privilegien und Positionen in der Gesellschaft reflektieren und abbauen?
