The COVID-19 pandemic and in fact all crises – acute or prolonged – remind us that human rights need to be central in all recovery and development efforts. The Sustainable Development Goals will only be achieved if we are able to create equal opportunities for all, address failures exposed and e...xploited by COVID-19, and apply human rights standards to tackle entrenched, systematic, and intergenerational inequalities, exclusion and discrimination.
We also share examples from Dorcas’ practice and formulate recommendations based on good practices of other organisations as well as our own. With this report, we aim to inform and inspire policy makers and humanitarian and development practitioners on inclusion of the rights of Older People in the current COVID-19 crisis, as well as others yet to come.

This guidance note is meant to assist humanitarian actors, youth-led organizations, and young people themselves across sectors, working at local, country, regional, and global levels in their response to the novel coronavirus pandemic. It begins diagnostically, exploring the impacts of coronavirus d...isease (COVID-19) on young people. Recommendations are structured around the five key actions of the Compact for Young People in Humanitarian Action: services, participation, capacity, resources, and data. Where available, the recommended actions are accompanied by resources and concrete examples, which can inform approaches and support implementation

In 2018, we are celebrating 20 years of progress in eliminating trachoma, the world’s leading infectious cause of blindness. Set up in 1998 by Pfizer Inc. and the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation, the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) supports Ministries of Health in over 30 countries around ...the world by making Zithromax® available for use in public health campaigns to eliminate trachoma. The 20th anniversary of our founding gives us an opportunity to reflect on the distance we’ve traveled in fighting this disease, and raise the ambition for accelerating to a world where diseases like trachoma are a distant memory. We have not traveled alone these past 20 years – a broad coalition of actors including NGOs, the World Health Organization (WHO), Ministries of Health, health workers, and community members have made these incredible achievements possible. Our 20th anniversary gives us an opportunity to celebrate this coalition of partners, colleagues, and friends
