Las directrices actualizadas del mhGAP, la retroalimentación de
información y la evaluación de la versión 1.0 de la GI-mhGAP
por los usuarios han permitido la revisión y elaboración de esta
versión actualizada de la guía. En el año 2015, se llevó a cabo y
se publicó una actualización... completa de las directrices mhGAP
conforme a la metodología de la OMS para la formulación de
directrices, que incluyó el proceso de análisis de datos científicos
y la síntesis y formulación de recomendaciones mediante la
participación de un grupo de expertos internacionales e
instituciones con experiencia apropiada: médicos clínicos,
investigadores, directores de programa, formuladores de
políticas y usuarios de los servicios. Se pueden encontrar detalles

El maltrato infantil ha pasado a considerarse en la última década un problema de salud pública. Numerosos trabajos que analizan los efectos directos en la salud mental infantil informan de una alta prevalencia en alteraciones internalizantes, externalizantes y en trastorno por estrés postraumát...ico (TEPT). La Terapia Cognitivo Conductual-Focalizada en el Trauma ha sido la única que ha recibido la mención de tratamiento eficaz bien establecido en población infanto-juvenil. La técnica de exposición prolongada se considera de elección para el tratamiento del TEPT, si bien numerosos pacientes presentan dificultades para llevarla a cabo. La Estrategia, una vez aplicada, contribuirá a que disminuyan radicalmente las ITS y las muertes relacionadas con dichas infecciones (incluidas las muertes fetales intrauterinas y el cáncer cervicouterino), al tiempo que mejorará la salud individual, la salud sexual de los hombres y las mujeres, ...y el bienestar de las personas en general. Asimismo, guiará los esfuerzos destinados a: acelerar y focalizar las iniciativas de prevención integrales mediante la ampliación de los enfoques comportamentales, biomédicos y estructurales combinados que estén basados en datos científicos; facilitar el acceso de las personas a la información sobre su estado en relación con las ITS; mejorar el acceso a tratamiento y a cuidados integrales a largo plazo cuando sea necesario; y hacer frente a la estigmatización y la discriminación generalizadas. El proyecto de estrategia promueve un enfoque centrado en las personas, basado en los principios de los derechos humanos, la igualdad de género y la equidad sanitaria.

This report summarizes the latest scientific knowledge on the links between exposure to air pollution and adverse health effects in children. It is intended to inform and motivate individual and collective action by health care professionals to prevent damage to children’s health from exposure to ...air pollution.
Air pollution is a major environmental health threat. Exposure to fine particles in both the ambient environment and in the household causes about seven million premature deaths each year. Ambient air pollution alone imposes enormous costs on the global economy, amounting to more than US$ 5 trillion in total welfare losses in 2013.
This public health crisis is receiving more attention, but one critical aspect is often overlooked: how air pollution affects children in uniquely damaging ways. Recent data released by the World Health Organization (WHO) show that air pollution has a vast and terrible impact on child health and survival. Globally, 93% of all children live in environments with air pollution levels above the WHO guidelines (see the full report, Air pollution and child health: prescribing clean air. More than one in every four deaths of children under 5 years of age is directly or indirectly related to environmental risks. Both ambient air pollution and household air pollution contribute to respiratory tract infections that resulted in 543 000 deaths in children under the age of 5 years in 2016.
