En este manual se presenta un método estandarizado para realizar, desde los centros de salud, encuestas transversales que permitan calcular los costos directos e indirectos que afectan a los pacientes con tuberculosis y a sus hogares, a partir de la experiencia acumulada con un instrumento diseñad...o previamente y un protocolo piloto probado por la OMS. El manual está dirigido especialmente a los programas nacionales de tuberculosis y a las entidades que colaboran en la planificación, ejecución, evaluación e Investigación operativa de los programas de tuberculosis.

Around the world, more than 2 billion people lack access to safely managed water, sanitation and hygiene services, with conflicts and climate change exacerbating the issue.
Unsafe and insufficient WASH facilities, especially in rural and remote areas, can lead to increased health complications fo...r older people, persons with disabilities and children. They also reinforce cycles of poverty, inequality and deprivation – particularly for women, children and marginalized groups, who are disproportionately impacted by a lack of equitable access to water and sanitation.
Launched on World Water Day, the guidelines address the knowledge gap on ways to practically implement inclusive approaches to WASH infrastructure development, particularly in developing countries and fragile contexts.

Unmet mental health needs in the Region of the Americas are a leading source of morbidity and mortality, which result in tremendous health, social, and economic consequences. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the mental health crisis in the Region, necessitating urgent action at the highest leve...ls of government and across sectors to build back better mental health now and for the future. This landmark report is the result of the PAHO High-Level Commission on Mental Health and COVID-19. It provides an analysis of the mental health situation in the Region, followed by a series of recommendations and corresponding actions to support countries in the Americas to prioritize and advance mental health using human rights- and equity-based approaches.

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha exacerbado la crisis de la salud mental en la Región, por lo que se nec...esita una acción urgente en los niveles más altos del gobierno y en todos los sectores con el propósito de reconstruir para mejorar los sistemas y servicios de salud mental ahora y en el futuro. En este histórico informe, elaborado por la Comisión de Alto Nivel de la OPS sobre Salud Mental y COVID-19, se presenta un análisis de la situación de la salud mental en las Américas, seguido de una serie de recomendaciones y sus puntos de acción correspondientes, a fin de ayudar a los países a priorizar y promover la salud mental con enfoques basados en los derechos humanos y la equidad.

The Second Edition offers an up-to-date global technical guidance on providing a model of quality care for children and families affected by sexual abuse in humanitarian settings. The new resources include both revised and content additions based on practitioner feedback, the most recent evidence and learning. In particular, the Guidelines aim to bring a stronger focus on gender inequality, intersectionality, as well as the connections between the best interests of the child and a survivor-centered approach.
