Guinean Alimatou Camara, a seventeen year old housewife in a polygamous union, lost her mother in-law, her only daughter and her stepdau...ghter to Ebola. She got infected too, but survived, thanks to the African Union Support to Ebola Outbreak in West Africa (ASEOWA).

A resident of Forécariah, a town situated one hundred kilometres away from Conakry, the capital of Guinea, she narrates the ordeal that befell her and her family, her battle with Ebola and the time she spent recovering at the African Union run Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU), in Coyah.

Imported and local rice prices increased modestly in March. A recovery in economic activity is leading to an improvement in unskilled wage rates (up 7 percent compared to February).
The households who are depending the most on negative coping strategies are in the districts of Kailahun, Kon...o, Bombali, Tonkolili and Koinadugu.
March data continues to show that negative coping strategies are most frequently used by the poorest households, by those living in Ebola-affected rural areas and by households headed by women.

It also focuses on persistent health inequalities and data gaps that have been accentuated by the pandemic, with a call to urgently invest in health information systems to ensure the world is better prepared with better data.

This report complements the study by looking at the trends in poverty between 2010/11 and 2013/14.It is essential to examine changes in poverty over time, because one of the most important goals of economic Sustainable Development Goals is to eliminate severe poverty by 2030.

It explores how adolescent girls within two age brackets (10-14 and 15-19) understand the unique impact the crisis has upon them, and how they have responded to the challenges they face.<...br>
Despite the numbers of adolescent girls affected so profoundly by the ongoing Rohingya crisis, and of course, by many crises around the world, it is rare that either their own communities or the humanitarian sector at large pay much attention to them. This research is an attempt to rectify that: to acknowledge that girls and young women do have rights and that their ideas are worth listening to and acting upon.
Among the many learnings, we discovered that girls feel isolated. They have settled among strangers, and parents worry about their safety, keeping them even more trapped inside their new, makeshift homes.
75% of girls interviewed said they have no ability to make decisions about their own lives.
