These guidelines provide recommendations for the non-pharmacological aspects of infection prevention and control for acute respiratory diseases (ARD) in health care. Administrative and infection controls, including early detection, isolation and reporting, and establishment of infection control infr...astructure, are key components for containment and mitigation of the impact of pathogens that may constitute a major public health threat. In these guidelines, the options of using natural ventilation and/or exhaust fan assisted ventilation in health-care facilities (HCF) are considered.

La présente étude avait pour objectif principal de documenter la culture de l’utilisation des MI. Plus particulièrement, elle a documenté la valeur accordée aux différents moyens préventifs, en particulier la MI, les perceptions de l’utilité, du coût d’opportunité de leur utilisation... ; les modalités et logiques de leur attribution au sein des ménages. Elle s’est aussi intéressée aux obstacles à l’utilisation régulière des MI de même que les facteurs favorisants ; les habitudes des familles relatives à leur entretien, réparation et les modalités de leur usage en rapport avec les habitudes de couchage.

That report summarized current scientific knowledge pe...rtaining to the public-health impact of antimicrobial use in the food system and the development and control of antimicrobial resistance. Since that time, intense interest in this topic has continued within the regulatory and scientific communities as well as the general public. This IFT Scientific Status Summary serves to update that 2006 IFT Expert Report by briefly reviewing new scientific evidence relevant to the goals of the initial report and providing a number of key observations and conclusions.
