El agente etiológico de la tuberculosis es el Mycobacterium tuberculosis o bacilo de Koch. Se trata de un bacilo aerobio estricto, ácido-alcohol resistente, sin movilidad, de crecimiento lento y que se inactiva con rayos ultravioleta y temperaturas mayores de 60°C.
La miocarditis es una enfermedad inflamatoria con compromiso focal o difuso del miocardio, que se presenta de forma fulminante, pudiendo ser aguda, subaguda o crónica.Las que poseen un nivel de gravedad suficiente para reconocerlas clínicamente, son raras, pero la prevalencia de los casos leves y ...asintomáticos probablemente sea más elevada.

This regional report on the situation of tuberculosis (TB) in the Americas contains information from 2019, provided by the countries of the Region through the World Health Organization TB data collection system. These data have been consolidated and analyzed at the regional level. In addition to pre...senting the epidemiological and programmatic situation of TB in the Americas, the report aims to raise awareness and to motivate and encourage all stakeholders in the prevention and control of this disease, to accelerate efforts towards TB elimination in the Region, and to achieve the targets of the End TB Strategy. The report records the Region's achievements, but also the gaps in the work being carried out in diagnosis, treatment, comorbidities, vulnerable populations, risk factors, and funding, among other issues. Based on the information presented, specific recommendations are provided for further progress.

En El Salvador, desde el surgimiento del primer caso de infección por Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH), la consejería de VIH se constituye en un recurso que favorece la prevención, encaminada a la identificación de factores de riesgo para ITS/VIH y otras Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual... (ITS). La complejidad de esta requiere de estrategias específicas para su abordaje, sobre todo en temas de sexualidad, medidas de protección, autocuidado y vinculación, con énfasis en las poblaciones con prácticas de mayor riesgo y vulnerabilidad.

Cases of human monkeypox are rarely seen outside of west and central Africa. There are few data regarding viral kinetics or the duration of viral shedding and no licensed treatments.
