The data collection process was organized by UCDC Director, Natalia Nizova, and M&E Department Head, Igor Kuzin, and implemented by M&E specialists from oblast AIDS Centers: Zhanna Antonenko, Oksana Gorbachuk, Volodymyr Zahorovskyi (Kiev City); Anna Lopatenko, Irina Kozina, I...ryna Chukhalova, (Dnipropetrovsk); Galina Vysotskaja, Iryna Petrovska, Oleksandr Guzieiev (Mykolayiv). Qualitative data collection as well as a desk review was done by the WB’s local consultants Anna Shapoval, Olesia Trofymenko, Anna Pisotska and Elena Dzyuba.
The report was prepared by a World Bank Task Team led by Iris Semini (seconded to the World Bank until July 2013, and now back with UNAIDS), and concluded by Emiko Masaki and Marelize Görgens (World Bank), with support and guidance provided by Daniel Dulitzky, Paolo Belli, Alejandro Cedeno, Alona Goroshko and Lombe Kasonde. Administrative support was provided by Anna Goodman, Mario Mendez and Uma Balasubramanian. When draft results were ready, an in-country workshop was held where stakeholders provided their inputs. Once a draft report was produced, written comments were received from World Bank colleagues, Son Nam Nguyen, Rosemary Sunkutu and Alona Goroshko.

Dans ce rapport, le Partnership for Evidence-Based Response to COVID-19 (PERC), un consortium d’organisations mondiales de santé publique et d’entreprises privées, fait la synthèse des résultats d’une enquête conduite du 29 mars au 17 avril 2020 dans 28 villes des États Membres de l’UA.... Ce rapport présente également les mesures épidémiologiques en matière de transmission de la maladie ainsi que les indicateurs relatives aux déplacements des populations et aux troubles civils. Dans l’ensemble, ces données donnent un aperçu unique des conditions initiales en Afrique pendant cette pandémie en évolution rapide.

La pandémie causée par le coronavirus s’est propagée au Niger le 19 mars, date de la notification du premier cas. A la date du 21 juillet 2020, le pays avait enregistré 1 113 cas, dont 1 1018 guéris, 26 sous traitement et 69 décès. Selon l’analyse des données effectuée par le Ministère... de la santé publique, la pandémie a atteint un pic le 9 avril avec 69 cas enregistrés en une journée pour ensuite connaitre une courbe descendante. Cette tendance se maintient en dépit de la progression de la pandémie à Zinder, ainsi que dans les régions d’Agadez et de Diffa, qui étaient, jusqu’au 30 avril 2020, les seules régions épargnées par la COVID-19, et le fait que 169 agents de santé, soit 18,4% de cette catégorie de personnel, figurent parmi les cas confirmés.

COVID-19 outbreak is associated with the generation of many types of infectious wastes, including infected masks, gloves and other protective equipment, together with a higher volume of general waste of the same nature.
The toolbox contains guidance and tools (sample templates) for data collection in M&E of PSS programmes. The tools can be adapted to PSS programme, depending upon target group, activities and scope. These are tools that may be useful for your programme and many are drawn from existing PSS programme ...M&E tools, but they are not an exhaustive list. They can act as an inspiration and supplement to other existing tools.

22 April 2022, This document provides updated interim recommendations on the use of masks by health workers providing care to patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. This update is prompted by new evidence around mask use and COVID-19 transmission, as well as the emergence of variants of conc...ern including Omicron. Masks continue to be a critical tool to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These interim guidelines supersede the recommendations provided in the WHO recommendations on mask use by health workers, in light of the Omicron variant of concern published on 22 December 2022.
WHO continually evaluates the emerging evidence and will review these interim recommendations within two months and issue new guidance as needed.

Regular collection and analysis of da...ta on these objectives, alongside the ongoing tracking of the epidemiological situation, are key to informing decision-making, operational adjustments, as well as ensuring transparency and accountability for achieving the goal to stop the Mpox outbreak. This document suggests reporting indicators for monitoring of the global response to the Mpox PHEIC as articulated in the Mpox SPRP and Operational Planning Guidelines for countries.

The report shows that many countries continue to make progress in the fight against tobacco, but efforts must be accelerated to protect people from the harms of tobacco and second-hand smoke.
