Eine wachsende Anzahl von Studierenden interessiert sich für Global Health. Bisher mangelt es jedoch an ausreichenden Angeboten zur Verwirklichung von studentischen Global-Health-Forschungsprojekten. Um vor diesem Hintergrund interessierte Studierende auf ihrem Weg zum eigenen Global-Health-Forschu...ngsprojekt zu unterstützen, hat die AG Forschungsplattform der Global Health Alliance-Deutschland (GHA-D), in Kooperation mit weiteren Institutionen, das Handbuch "Forschung mit Weitblick" entwickelt. Neben Hintergrundinformationen und Anregungen zur kritischen Reflexion werden in dem Handbuch eine Auswahl von Forschungsarbeiten mit Global-Health-Bezug sowie erste Schritte zur Umsetzung eines eigenen Forschungsprojekts vorgestellt.

An den Universitäten Leipzig und Hann...over haben Studierende 2018 und 2019
bereits erfolgreich Wahlfächer zu Global Health ins Leben gerufen. Basierend auf
ihren Erfahrungen soll euch das folgende Kompendium eine Hilfestellung für die
Etablierung eines eigenen Wahlfaches an eurer Universität bieten. In 11 steps zum
Wahlfachkönnt ihr nachvollziehen, welche bürokratischen Schritte gegangen und
welche inhaltlichen sowie organisatorischen Fragen geklärt werden müssen.
Außerdem findet ihr einen Leitfaden zur Vorbereitung einer Unterrichtsstunde,
sowie einen Stundenverlaufsplan für die Eigenverwendung und am Ende eine
Auflistung möglicher Qüllen und Ansprechpartner.
Wir hoffen, dass Global Health bald an vielen weiteren Unis in der Lehre präsent
sein wird und freuen uns, durch diesen Beitrag hierfür Unterstützung bieten zu

Der Umsetzungsprozess der Agenda 2030 wird von einer wachsenden Zahl von Wirtschaftsakteuren als willkommene Gelegenheit gesehen, dieser Kritik zu begegnen, den Diskurs in ihrem Sinne zu gestalten und politische Entscheidungen entsprechend zu beeinflussen.Das Briefing zeigt auf, dass das Engagement der Wirtschaft für die SDGs und der Unternehmenseinfluss auf den SDG-Diskurs mit Risiken und Nebenwirkungen verbunden sind. Published in The Lancet in November 2018, GBD 2017 provides for the first time an independent estimation of population, for each of 195 countries and territories and the globe, using a standardized, repli...cable approach, as well as a comprehensive update on fertility. Produced with the input of 3,676 collaborators from 146 countries and territories, GBD 2017 incorporates major data additions and improvements, and methodological refinements. GBD 2017 also includes estimates at the subnational level for selected locations.

The population of sub-Saharan Africa is projected to double by 2050 (99%). As scientists of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change meet in Geneva this week to publish their Special Report on Climate Change and Land (August 8), a new report by the development charity Christian Aid shows that climate change is having a disproportionate impact on the food systems of the country’s least responsible for causing the climate crisis.
The IPCC is expected to show how climate change will affect global food supply, spiking prices and reducing nutrition. It is also likely to recommend that countries will need to drastically cut emissions if global food security is to be protected.
