Ziel: Wissenstransfer hinsichtlich praktischer Erfahrungen auf europäischer Ebene und sozialer Dienste für obdachlose Frauen mit psychischen Beeinträchtigungen, sowie im Hinblick auf betreute Übergangswohnungen und ambulante psychosoziale Dienste für Obdachlose (PSD etc.).

The aim of the three-year proj...ect is the implementation of a holistic care concept for young people whose rights and education, security and development are not guaranteed in their families. A total of 73 people should benefit directly from this program, as young people receive board and lodging in the ASOL youth hostel or receive comprehensive socio-educational and psychological care. The young people are also supported when they go to school (financially, learning aid) or fifteen young people from this group receive vocational training and can thus help their families in the future. The organization MIRIAM supports the ASOL youth hostel with the care of the young people, the further training of the staff, with the development of a strategic plan in order to obtain the state certification and thus integrate ASOL into the inter-institutional reference system of young people in emergency situations.

Background: En SAE, APROSAR d...éveloppe le projet Guichet d'Économie Locale - GEL dans la zone rurale d'Oruro avec un financement de la DGD et l assistance technique et financière de Louvain Coopération depuis 2005. Dans le département d Oruro, dans les six communes qui composent l'Intercommunale Azanake, APROSAR appuie plus de 92 UPR (unités de production rurale) dans le processus d organisation, production, transformation et commercialisation, avec une plate -forme pour faciliter la fourniture de services de développement des entreprises (SDE), la même qui travaille opérationnellement avec six antennes d information municipale (AMI), techniquement et administrativement dépendante de l administration municipale. Jusqu à présent, le projet a aidé directement plus de 600 familles et indirectement 2 500 familles, en leur fournissant un meilleur revenu et en améliorant la qualité de vie de la population cible touchée. Cette action s inscrit dans le cadre d une stratégie globale et intégrée où la santé communautaire, le développement économique et la sécurité alimentaire, sont les principaux axes de développement territorial dans cette région.Esperanza Bolivia (EBO) en association avec Louvain Coopération (2011 -2013) appuie un projet de production et de commercialisation de quinoa dans le Haut Plateau de Tarija et Cintis. La composante productive envisage les actions en trois phases: (a) la recherche, (b) l expansion semi commerciale et (c) l expansion commerciale. Outre l'évaluation des performances agronomiques des différentes variétés de quinoa, des activités nutritionnelles et culinaires sont organisées pour intégrer le quinoa dans l alimentation de base des familles de cette région.En santé, depuis 2003, LD et APROSAR développent des activités à Oruro, en donnant la priorité aux actions de prévention et de promotion de la santé maternelle et infantile et, depuis 2011, des activités qui incitent à implémenter la politique de Santé Familiale Communautaire et Interculturelle (SAFCI). Ces activités ont permis de former 300 autorités locales de santé et 6 Conseils municipaux de santé. Le partenariat entre LD et Esperanza Bolivia (EBO) a également démarré en 2003. EBO oeuvre en accord avec les promoteurs de santé communautaires et les institutions pour assurer l'ancrage des actions sur le terrain. Actuellement les actions se déroulent principalement dans les secteurs de la santé mentale et de la santé sexuelle et reproductive.En santé mentale, les actions étaient initialement développées par la Fondation Encuentro avec une approche essentiellement clinique, au travers de la mise au point et de l'implémentation de protocoles thérapeutiques familiaux et d'une assistance directe aux bénéficiaires. Background: De acties situere...n zich in het domein van de geestelijke gezondheidszorg. De samenwerking met het nationaal referentiehospitaal Hôpital Neuro -Psychiatrique Kamenge (CNPK) en haar afdeling in Gitega wordt verdergezet. Investeringen zijn voorzien voor de bouw van een afdeling kinderpsychiatrie. - General objective: Partners in geestelijke gezondheidszorg en orthopedagogische zorg zijn sterker en beter in staat de levenskwaliteit van personen uit de Regio van de Grote Meren die lijden onder een beperking en/of geestesziekte te verhogen, met het oog op persoonlijke rehabilitatie en sociale re -integratie van deze personen - Specific objective: Partners hebben meer capaciteiten om te bewerkstelligen dat patiënten (GGZ) een acceptabele en duurzame basiskwaliteit van leven ervaren en minder afhankelijk zijn van residentiële zorg - Results: Resultaat 1: De individuele hulpverleners zijn beter opgeleid en competenter om adequate zorg te verlenenResultaat 2: Het vermogen van de hulpverleners om zich in te zetten en te engageren is verhoogd, doordat zij zich gehoord voelen, betrokken zijn en worden gemotiveerdResultaat 3: De individuele hulpverleners evenals het hoger en middenkader zijn in staat betere prestaties te leveren in de eigen functie door een systeem van personeelsbegeleiding. Daarbij heeft het hoger en middenkader de bekwaamheid de hulpverleners te begeleiden binnen een inclusieve partnercultuur.Resultaat 4: Het residentiële zorgaanbod bij de partners is sterker en breder uitgebouwdResultaat 5: Het ambulante zorgaanbod bij de partner is sterker en breder uitgebouwdResultaat 6: De partner is inhoudelijk sterker uitgebouwd om kwalitatieve zorg te verlenenResultaat 7: De partner ondersteunt en behandelt vrouwelijke personeelsleden evenwaardig in hun professionele ontplooiing en sterkt de vrouwelijke doelgroep door de verstrekte zorg en door de genderbewuste houding van de zorginstellingResultaat 8: De partner heeft de capaciteit zich op verschillende niveaus aan te passen en te vernieuwen en tegelijk coherentie en diversiteit met gelijkaardige partners in de regio in balans te houden (organisational learning)Reultaat 9: De partner heeft de bekwaamheid om de Burundese maatschappij bewuster te maken van de problematiek van de geesteszieke en van de mogelijke antwoorden. Background: Kinshasa et ses e...nvirons est confronté a un sentiment d'insécurité mentale majeur dont les causes sont multifactorielles : pauvreté de la population, fort exode rural et de personnes fuyant les régions en conflits, effritement de la solidarité familiale et abandon culturels d'enfants et d'adolescents qui se regroupent en gangs, viols et incestes, VIH, consommation de substances, désordres post -traumatiques… - General objective: Depuis 2000, la RDC s'est dotée d'un programme national de santé mentale, encouragée par la région africaine de l'OMS. Ce plan est resté sans moyen pour déployer une quelconque action efficiente sur le terrain.Il est par ailleurs bien connu qu'en termes de résilience, l'insécurité mentale et les traumas psychiques entraînent un comportement de repli sur soi et sur l'immédiat de l'ensemble systémique de la famille et entraîne donc une dynamique de développement négative pour la communauté.Une considération de la situation socio -sanitaire à Kinshasa et ses environs met en évidence l insuffisance en termes de spécialistes pour l encadrement médico -psychologique des nombreuses victimes. De plus l'Hôpital psychiatrique de Kinshasa est largement sous utilisé suite au coût exorbitant des soins institutionnels pour une population pauvre et sans sécurité sociale. Par contre le réseau associatif non professionnel est abondant et les agents de santé de base (infirmiers, généralistes…) sont plus nombreux. - Specific objective: PFS - Certificat complémentaire interuniversitaire sur le trauma psychique à vocation régionale (RDC et pays voisons) et soutien à la relève académique à KinshasaLe projet soutient un partenariat entre 2 universités de RDC et 2 universités belges - Results: 1. la mise sur pied d'un certificat universitaire spécialisé complémentaire agréé en postgraduate en traumas psychiques ; 2. la relève académique à l'UNIKIN et à l'UPN en traumas psychiques;3. le développement de compétences des agents de terrain en utilisation des média pour informer et sensibiliser la population exposée à l'insécurité et aux trauma psychiques sur les possibilités de prise en charge scientifiquement éprouvées et sur les attitudes et comportements adéquats. -

Background: Le génocide qu a... connu le Rwanda en 1994 a provoqué des dégâts monumentaux au niveau psychosocial. Les données issues de différentes enquêtes n arrivent à transmettre qu une pâle idée de la réalité dont il est question, tant se révèle sans mesure la dévastation du tissu humain de la communauté rwandaise, ce que l enchevêtrement et la précarité de l ensemble des paramètres peinent à dépeindre. - General objective: Ces événements ont érodé le tissu social, bouleversé les systèmes de référence, compromis les organisations familiales et communautaires, altéré les psychismes individuels. Les recours traditionnels qui garantissaient la cohésion sociale et l équilibre psychique, tant collectif que personnel, ont été ébranlés, disloqués, négligés ou rendus inopérants. A cette situation dramatique, s est ajoutée la destruction des infrastructures et la perte de ressources humaines (médecins, infirmiers, techniciens, intellectuels, chercheurs, etc.) qui devraient participer au soutien des personnes éprouvées. - Specific objective: Dans ce contexte, le projet veut contribuer à la prise en charge de ces problèmes : 1) par l élaboration, avec les partenaires rwandais actifs en ces matières, de nouveaux modèles théoriques et pratiques d intervention en santé mentale et en qualité de la vie, modèles qui soient appropriés aux singularités et nécessités (historiques, psychologiques, économiques, culturelles, sociales, écologiques, politiques) du contexte rwandais et non simplement importés pour avoir fait leurs preuves en Occident; 2) en formant tant à la recherche qu à la mise en œuvre des modèles, issus de cette recherche, dans les pratiques de traitement des problèmes en cause. - Results: nouveaux modèles théoriques et pratiques d intervention en santé mentale ; formation à la recherche en santé mentate -

Background: Rwanda > HNPCHet ...SWV heeft bijgedragen aan de functionering van de partner HNPC in Ndera en Kigali en diens antenne CARAES -Butare op gebied van psychotropen en vormings - en sensibiliseringsactiviteiten. Op gebied van sensibilisering werden middelbare scholen bezocht in en rond Kigali en Butare voor sensibilisering op het vlak van alcohol, drugsverslaving en andere psychoactieve stoffen. Er was ook sensibilisering op gebied van gezondheidsstructuren in Kigali. Tijdens de Internationale dag van de GGZ worden jaarlijks sensbiliseringsactiviteiten georganiseerd. Heel frequent werden radio -uitzendingen (met name nationale Radio Rwanda) georganiseerd.Op gebied van vormingen werd voornamelijk het eigen personeel gevormd door interne vormingen door eigen of externe specialisten. Er werden echter op gebied van neurologie (EEG e.a.) ook enkele verzorgenden voor specialistische stages naar België en Frankrijk uitgezonden. Ook werd uit het vormingsbudget de deelname aan de netwerkingsactiviteiten van andere GGZ -partners uit de Regio Grote Meren gefinancierd.Het SWV heeft ook jaarlijks financiële steun gegeven voor salarissen van verzorgend personeel van de partner. Tijdens de laatste 5 jaar werden binnen de cofinanciering DGD -SWV ook belangrijke investeringswerken gerealiseerd zoals een neurologie -eenheid op de plaats van de zetel in Ndera (geopend in 2010). HVP -GatagaraOok bij deze partner en diens vestigingen draagt het SWV bij aan het functioneren.. De subsidie van de orthopedische basismaterialen garandeert de toegankelijkheid van personen met een fysieke beperking tot orthopedische hulpmiddelen zoals ortheses en protheses. De mutualiteiten vergoeden tot op heden geen kosten voor orthopedische hulpmiddelen en het overgrote deel van de cliënten met een fysieke beperking is niet in staat om de totaliteit van de factuur te betalen. - General objective: Partners in geestelijke gezondheidszorg en orthopedagogische zorg zijn sterker en beter in staat de levenskwaliteit van personen uit de Regio van de Grote Meren die lijden onder een beperking en/of geestesziekte te verhogen, met het oog op persoonlijke rehabilitatie en sociale re -integratie van deze personen - Specific objective: Partners hebben meer capaciteiten om te bewerkstelligen dat:Patiënten (GGZ) een acceptabele en duurzame basiskwaliteit van leven ervaren en minder afhankelijk zijn van residentiële zorgCliënten (OZ) meer kwaliteit van leven ervaren en beschikken over verhoogde kansen en mogelijkheden tot zelfrealisatie - Results: Capaciteitsversterking op niveau van de individuele werknemers (CV niveau 1 : HRD) zal plaatsvinden door vorming voor verzorgenden en niet -verzorgenden.Met capaciteitsversterking op het vlak van organisatorische ontwikkeling (CV niveau 2 : OD) wordt in Rwanda op vlak van GGZ en OZ gestreefd naar een breder en sterker uitgebouwd residentieel en ambulant zorgaanbod (R4, R5, R6, R7). Background: Tijdens de laatst...e 5 jaar werden binnen de cofinanciering DGD -SWV belangrijke investeringen gedaan. Zo werd het SDPC van een nieuwe 4x4 terreinwagen voorzien, zodat het centrum ondanks de zeer geïsoleerde en onherbergzame ligging toch kon functioneren als regionale GGZ -structuur. In Marumba werd ook een investeringsbudget voor infrastructuur aangewend waarmee sanitaire voorzieningen voor patiënten en ook kleine rehabilitatiewerken werden uitgevoerd. Het Kasaka Mental Health Centre dat in 2012 officieel werd geopend, werd voor ongeveer 50% gebouwd met DGD -middelen. Ook was er een budget voor medische uitrustingsmaterialen en laboratoriumapparatuur. Dankzij de financiële steun van de laatste 5 jaar heeft de partner Marumba zijn zorg kunnen continueren en kwaliteitsvoller kunnen maken ondanks de zeer moeilijke context waarbinnen deze partner werkzaam is (extreem arme streek en zeer afgelegen). Ook was het mogelijk om de toegankelijkheid van de GGZ binnen de regio Kigoma sterk te verbeteren door oprichting van een tweede GGZ -centrum nabij het stadsmilieu van Kigoma. - General objective: De globale doelstelling van het SWV in Tanzania op lange termijn is de partners zodanig versterkt te hebben in al hun aspecten, waaronder ook op het aspect van infrastructuur, dat deze steeds beter in staat zijn (en uiteindelijk zelfstandig in staat zijn) om de levenskwaliteit te verhogen van personen die lijden onder een psychisch lijden of stoornis of een beperking, en dat met het oog op persoonlijke rehabilitatie en sociale re -integratie van deze personen. - Specific objective: Verbeterde Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg en Orthopedagogische Zorg in Tanzania'Partners hebben meer capaciteiten om te bewerkstelligen dat: - Patiënten (GGZ) een acceptabele en duurzame basiskwaliteit van leven ervaren en minder afhankelijk zijn van residentiële zorg - Cliënten (OZ) een acceptabele kwaliteit van leven ervaren en beschikken over verhoogde kansen en mogelijkheden tot zelfrealisatie' - Results: R1 Vormingswerk De individuele hulpverleners zijn beter opgeleid en competenter om adequate zorg te verlenenR2 Inclusieve partnercultuur op het vlak van personeel Het vermogen van de hulpverleners om zich in te zetten en te engageren is verhoogd, doordat zij zich gehoord voelen, betrokken zijn en worden gemotiveerdR3 Personeelsbegeleiding De individuele hulpverleners evenals het hoger en middenkader zijn in staat betere prestaties te leveren in de eigen functie door een systeem van personeelsbegeleiding. Background: En SAE, APROSAR d...éveloppe le projet Guichet d'Économie Locale - GEL dans la zone rurale d'Oruro avec un financement de la DGD et l'assistance technique et financière de Louvain Coopération depuis 2005. Dans le département d'Oruro, dans les six communes qui composent l'Intercommunale Azanake, APROSAR appuie plus de 92 UPR (unités de production rurale) dans le processus d'organisation, production, transformation et commercialisation, avec une plate -forme pour faciliter la fourniture de services de développement des entreprises (SDE), la même qui travaille opérationnellement avec six antennes d'information municipale (AMI), techniquement et administrativement dépendante de l'administration municipale. Jusqu'à présent, le projet a aidé directement plus de 600 familles et indirectement 2 500 familles, en leur fournissant un meilleur revenu et en améliorant la qualité de vie de la population cible touchée. Cette action s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une stratégie globale et intégrée où la santé communautaire, le développement économique et la sécurité alimentaire, sont les principaux axes de développement territorial dans cette région. Esperanza Bolivia (EBO) en association avec Louvain Coopération (2011 -2013) appuie un projet de production et de commercialisation de quinoa dans le Haut Plateau de Tarija et Cintis. La composante productive envisage les actions en trois phases: (a) la recherche, (b) l'expansion semi commerciale et (c) l'expansion commerciale. Outre l'évaluation des performances agronomiques des différentes variétés de quinoa, des activités nutritionnelles et culinaires sont organisées pour intégrer le quinoa dans l'alimentation de base des familles de cette région. En santé, depuis 2003, LD et APROSAR développent des activités à Oruro, en donnant la priorité aux actions de prévention et de promotion de la santé maternelle et infantile et, depuis 2011, des activités qui incitent à implémenter la politique de Santé Familiale Communautaire et Interculturelle (SAFCI). Ces activités ont permis de former 300 autorités locales de santé et 6 Conseils municipaux de santé. Le partenariat entre LD et Esperanza Bolivia (EBO) a également démarré en 2003. EBO oeuvre en accord avec les promoteurs de santé communautaires et les institutions pour assurer l'ancrage des actions sur le terrain. Actuellement les actions se déroulent principalement dans les secteurs de la santé mentale et de la santé sexuelle et reproductive. En santé mentale, les actions étaient initialement développées par la Fondation Encuentro avec une approche essentiellement clinique, au travers de la mise au point et de l'implémentation de protocoles thérapeutiques familiaux et d'une assistance directe aux bénéficiaires. Ultérieurement, l'Association Cuna s'est focalisée sur les processus d'empowerment des acteurs afin de générer des actions de prévention de la violence et de promotion des droits et obligations. Background: Rwanda > HNPC Het... SWV heeft bijgedragen aan de functionering van de partner HNPC in Ndera en Kigali en diens antenne CARAES -Butare op gebied van psychotropen en vormings - en sensibiliseringsactiviteiten. Op gebied van sensibilisering werden middelbare scholen bezocht in en rond Kigali en Butare voor sensibilisering op het vlak van alcohol, drugsverslaving en andere psychoactieve stoffen. Er was ook sensibilisering op gebied van gezondheidsstructuren in Kigali. Tijdens de Internationale dag van de GGZ worden jaarlijks sensbiliseringsactiviteiten georganiseerd. Heel frequent werden radio -uitzendingen (met name nationale Radio Rwanda) georganiseerd. Op gebied van vormingen werd voornamelijk het eigen personeel gevormd door interne vormingen door eigen of externe specialisten. Er werden echter op gebied van neurologie (EEG e.a.) ook enkele verzorgenden voor specialistische stages naar België en Frankrijk uitgezonden. Ook werd uit het vormingsbudget de deelname aan de netwerkingsactiviteiten van andere GGZ -partners uit de Regio Grote Meren gefinancierd. Het SWV heeft ook jaarlijks financiële steun gegeven voor salarissen van verzorgend personeel van de partner. Tijdens de laatste 5 jaar werden binnen de cofinanciering DGD -SWV ook belangrijke investeringswerken gerealiseerd zoals een neurologie -eenheid op de plaats van de zetel in Ndera (geopend in 2010). HVP -Gatagara Ook bij deze partner en diens vestigingen draagt het SWV bij aan het functioneren.. De subsidie van de orthopedische basismaterialen garandeert de toegankelijkheid van personen met een fysieke beperking tot orthopedische hulpmiddelen zoals ortheses en protheses. De mutualiteiten vergoeden tot op heden geen kosten voor orthopedische hulpmiddelen en het overgrote deel van de cliënten met een fysieke beperking is niet in staat om de totaliteit van de factuur te betalen. - General objective: Partners in geestelijke gezondheidszorg en orthopedagogische zorg zijn sterker en beter in staat de levenskwaliteit van personen uit de Regio van de Grote Meren die lijden onder een beperking en/of geestesziekte te verhogen, met het oog op persoonlijke rehabilitatie en sociale re -integratie van deze personen - Specific objective: Partners hebben meer capaciteiten om te bewerkstelligen dat: Patiënten (GGZ) een acceptabele en duurzame basiskwaliteit van leven ervaren en minder afhankelijk zijn van residentiële zorg Cliënten (OZ) meer kwaliteit van leven ervaren en beschikken over verhoogde kansen en mogelijkheden tot zelfrealisatie - Results: Capaciteitsversterking op niveau van de individuele werknemers (CV niveau 1 : HRD) zal plaatsvinden door vorming voor verzorgenden en niet -verzorgenden. Background : Le conflit qui a... cours dans les territoires palestiniens occupés (oPt) a des conséquences humanitaires de plus en plus lourdes principalement en raison de violations continues du Droit International Humanitaire (DIH). L'occupation de la Cisjordanie et le blocus de la bande de Gaza ont provoqué une longue crise de protection ayant des conséquences humanitaires, notamment en matière d'accès à la santé, à l'eau, à l'éducation et à des moyens de subsistance, qui renforcent le désespoir des Palestiniens sur les plans économique et social. En juillet et août 2014, Gaza a été le théâtre d'un conflit qui a fait environ 2.200 morts côté palestinien, dont plus de 1.400 civils (desquels on compte 550 enfants et 300 femmes). C'est une crise humanitaire dramatique qui en a découlé. Des destructions des habitations, d'infrastructures sanitaires et d'écoles sont à déplorer. Les acteurs humanitaires voient en outre leurs actions de reconstruction rendues extrêmement complexes par les limitations de l'acheminement du matériel de reconstruction, principalement imposées par le gouvernement israélien. Aujourd'hui c'est environ 80% des 1,6 million d'habitants de Gaza qui survivent grâce à l'aide extérieure. Des besoins humanitaires criants tant à Gaza qu'en Cisjordanie ainsi que des difficultés opérationnelles sur le terrain rendent la situation intenable et la réponse urgente. -Global objective: Les conditions de vie de la population palestinienne sont améliorées. -Specific objective : L'accès à des services spécialisés de réhabilitation physique est amélioré pour la population ciblée. -Intended results : R1 : La capacité de l'hôpital Al Amal à fournir des soins médicaux spécialisés de réhabilitation est améliorée. R2 : Les personnes handicapées ne pouvant accéder aux services spécialisés de réhabilitation de l'hôpital reçoivent des soins adéquats chez eux. -

En la continuidad del precedente programa 2016-2021, y en línea con los Marcos Estratégicos Comunes (MEC) Cuba y Trabajo Decente , se trabajaran dos temas: la Rehabilitación Basada en la Comunidad (RBC) e la Inclusión Socioeconómica (ISE) para mejorar el acceso a los servicios para todos y todas, sin discriminación de edad, sexo, o discapacidad. El primer Objetivo Estratégico (OE) incluye cuatro ejes de cambio: 1. La implementación de una estrategia Rehabilitación basada en la comunidad (RBC) en 5 municipios de Pinar del Rio para tomar en cuenta la discapacidad intelectual profunda y severa. 2. El apoyo a la creación, por los actores cubanos, de un modelo de RBC adaptado al contexto cubano. 3. La formación de los recursos técnicos necesarios al nivel nacional, provincial y municipal para asegurar la duplicación de la RBC. 4. Un apoyo para lograr que la metodología RBC este implementada de manera autónoma por los actores locales. El segundo OE contribuye al empoderamiento y la participación de las personas con discapacidad (PcD) y sus familias, con énfasis en las mujeres, en el desarrollo socioeconómico del oriente cubano. Tiene tres ejes de cambio 1. El reforzamiento de capacidades de las Organizaciones de PcD y de mujeres, 2. El fomento de oportunidades formativas inclusivas y diversas, e la implementan de iniciativas económicas para PcD y en mujeres en particular, 3. El cambio de percepción de la población sobre los derechos y competencias de las personas con discapacidad y la equidad de género. Las intervenciones se implementan con 16 contrapartes cubanas de distintos naturaleza y niveles, y, una colaboración con una ONG belga. En un contexto cubano muy sensible al cambio climático, ambos OE incorporen el tema de medio ambiente.

This project will evaluate the... impact of affordable childcare in rural Rajasthan, India. The research will focus on mothers' decision-making, freedom of mobility, control over resources, employment status, income, and mental health. The goal is to inform policies to improve the childcare options available to poor Indian households. Like most developing countries, India lacks reliable and affordable daycare for children. Middle- and upper-class Indian families rely on private facilities for their children, giving the government little incentive to improve the public provision of daycare for poorer families. Inadequate daycare services for the poor likely contribute to gender inequality by restricting women's educational and economic opportunities. The project team will assess the impact of a daycare program on mothers and children in rural Rajasthan, a state that performs poorly in terms of women's empowerment in India. Researchers will conduct a rigorous impact evaluation to gain insight into how childcare programs influence women's self-esteem, as well as their role in decision-making, freedom of mobility, control over material resources, employment status, household income, and mental health. The Institute for Health and Social Policy at McGill University will implement this evaluation with the support of the Institute for Financial Management and Research. Both institutions will collaborate closely with Seva Mandir (Rajasthan, India), a local non-governmental organization that provides childcare, nutritional, and educational services. This research is supported under the Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) program. GrOW is a five-year, multi-funder partnership of the United Kingdom's Department for International Development, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and IDRC. With a focus on low-income countries in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, GrOW aims to support policies and interventions that improve women's livelihoods and contribute to societal well-being. One component of the program will support 11 projects addressing barriers to women's economic empowerment and gender gaps in earnings and productivity. This project is among them, selected following a competitive call.

This project aims to improve t...he protection and security of the most vulnerable human rights defenders (HRDs), especially women and Indigenous defenders, at-risk or currently under attack. Project activities include: (1) providing training to increase HRDs' knowledge of risk and protection measures, (2) providing legal, psychological, physical and other protection services with differentiated approaches to women's human rights defenders, (3) providing training to state and civil society actors, and communication campaigns to increase their knowledge of the role and importance of HRDs, especially women and Indigenous defenders, and (4) supporting the creation and/or consolidation of protection mechanisms for HRDs, such as policies, protocols, dialogue and coordination spaces by state and civil society actors, including specific mechanisms for women. / Ce projet vise à améliorer la protection et la sécurité des défenseurs des droits de la personne (DDP) les plus vulnérables, plus particulièrement les femmes, les Autochtones et les personnes attaquées ou susceptibles de l'être. Activités liées au projet : 1) offrir aux DDP une formation centrée sur la connaissance des risques et des mesures de protection, 2) fournir aux DDP des services de protection juridique, psychologique, physique et autres, qui prévoient des approches différenciées pour les femmes, 3) fournir aux intervenants de l'État et de la société civile une formation et des campagnes de communication pour les sensibiliser au rôle et à l'importance des DDP, particulièrement les femmes et les personnes autochtones, 4) soutenir la création ou la consolidation de mécanismes de protection des DDP – politiques, protocoles, espaces de dialogue et de coordination des intervenants de l'État et de la société civile, etc. –, notamment des mécanismes spécifiquement conçus pour les femmes.
