This Investment will improve t...he region's capacity to detect emerging and re-emerging infectious disease threats ans therefore respond earlier - reducing the risk to the region and ourselves. It will enable partner countries to benefit from Australian expertise and experience in health security while providing Australia with timely access to shared data on emerging infectious diseases in animals and humans and expanded scope for research of relevance to all.This investment will build on existing OIE-funded projects by twinning the Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) with ASEAN designated regional animal health reference laboratories in Thailand and Vietnam to improve their ability to perform their functions.In Indonesia, AAHL will support the Indonesian national avian influenza reference laboratory (Wates) to fulfil its support role for human and animal provincial laboratories.

This Investment will improve t...he region's capacity to detect emerging and re-emerging infectious disease threats ans therefore respond earlier - reducing the risk to the region and ourselves. It will enable partner countries to benefit from Australian expertise and experience in health security while providing Australia with timely access to shared data on emerging infectious diseases in animals and humans and expanded scope for research of relevance to all.This investment will build on existing OIE-funded projects by twinning the Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) with ASEAN designated regional animal health reference laboratories in Thailand and Vietnam to improve their ability to perform their functions.In Indonesia, AAHL will support the Indonesian national avian influenza reference laboratory (Wates) to fulfil its support role for human and animal provincial laboratories.
