SIAPS focuses on enhancing pha...rmaceutical services through patientcentered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security. The SIAPS goal is to support the achievement of improved and sustained health outcomes by applying a systems strengthening approach consistent with the Global Health Initiative (GHI) principles. The SIAPS result areas address the intersections of five health systems components as they pertain to pharmaceutical services (governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery) in the design of potential interventions to ensure that they respond to health element and cross cutting concerns in support of health system strengthening.

Jordan Healthcare Accreditatio...n Project - Malaria
more
The Jordan Healthcare Accredia...tion Project was designed to improve the health status of all Jordanians. The overall goal of JHAP was to improve the quality and safety of healthcare services in Jordan through accreditation. To address the challenges faced by Jordans weakly regulated health sector, JHAP would assist the Government of Jordan (GOJ) to adopt a regulatory framework for the health sector, through the establishment of national and internationally-recognized healthcare standards and accreditation. The specific objectives of JHAP were to: Strengthen the quality and safety of services in the Jordanian healthcare system through accreditation of facilities and services along the continuum from primary to tertiary care; Establish a national accreditation agency which has the support of key health care sectors and the capability to carry on project activities beyond the life of the project; and Build capacity in both hospitals and PHC centers to carry out accreditation activities, meet standards, and improve the quality and safety of health services and be accredited.

Control and Prevention of Mala...ria (CAP-Malaria) - Malaria
more
The Control and Prevention of ...Malaria (CAP-Malaria) project will advance the efforts of Cambodias National Malaria Program to strengthen malaria prevention and control in the border areas of Cambodia where there is drug resistant malaria. The CAP-Malaria project will conduct behavior-change communication campaigns to increase awareness about malaria prevention, particularly among mobile and migrant workers. It will distribute approximately 50,000 insecticide-treated bed nets to vulnerable populations. CAP-Malaria will strengthen antenatal care practices among health workers in high prevalence areas to improve care for patients and the use of rapid diagnostic tests. The project will also track malaria-borne mosquitos and their biting behaviors and facilitate cross-border cooperation between Thai and Cambodian health authorities. This effort will reduce Cambodias malaria burden, including malaria-related deaths, as well as move Cambodia towards the pre-elimination stage of malaria in specific areas.

NetWorks: Building Capacity fo...r Sustained Net Coverage and Use - Malaria
more
NetWorks is a comprehensive an...d innovative program to build sustainable long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLIN) systems that bridge the key technical areas of advocacy, policy, distribution, monitoring, and communications for increased net access and use in malaria endemic countries. Endemic countries, particularly in Africa, differ widely in resources (financial and human) and experiences with LLIN distribution that contribute to a unique net context in each country. Partnerships and policies vary widely, while procurement and distribution challenges hamper implementation. This combination of issues underscores the need for flexibility inherent in the NetWorks approach. NetWorks emphasizes fitting program activities to the national net context.

Systems for Improved Access to... Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) - Malaria
more
SIAPS focuses on enhancing pha...rmaceutical services through patientcentered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security.

Communication for Change (C-Ch...ange) in DRC - Malaria
more
FHI 360s Communication for Cha...nge (C-Change) project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) seeks to increase positive health behaviors through evidence-based, social and behavior change communication (SBCC) programs that focus on family planning, HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, malaria, tuberculosis, water sanitation, maternal and child health, nutrition and HIV, and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. C-Change is working at central and provincial levels to build managerial and SBCC skills within the government, nongovernmental organizations and civil society organizations. We envision building local capacity to plan, monitor and evaluate scientifically based SBCC interventions, so the DRC becomes a regional leader offering state-of-the-art SBCC approaches to neighboring countries.
