The document "Prevansyon kont Diare" provides guidance on preventing and managing diarrhea. It explains that diarrhea, caused by pathogens like viruses, bacteria, and parasites, can lead to severe dehydration if untreated. Symptoms include vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite, with severe cases req...uiring urgent medical care.
To prevent diarrhea, the document emphasizes using treated or boiled water, washing hands with soap, cooking food thoroughly, and cleaning fruits and vegetables with safe water. It also provides a recipe for Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) to combat dehydration: mix 1 liter of boiled or treated water with 8 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of baking soda. This solution should be consumed while seeking medical attention.
The document serves as an educational resource to promote hygiene and provide simple, effective solutions for preventing and managing diarrhea.

This infographic from the Tropeninstitut illustrates the malaria transmission cycle. It begins when an Anopheles mosquito bites a human and injects its sporozoites into the bloodstream. The sporozoites then travel to the liver where they mature and release merozoites back into the bloodstream. The m...erozoites then infect red blood cells, resulting in the clinical symptoms of malaria. Some merozoites develop into gametocytes, which can be ingested by another mosquito when it bites the infected person again, thus continuing the transmission cycle.
The infographic serves as an educational tool, helping to explain the complex life cycle of the malaria parasite and the role of mosquitoes in spreading the disease.

This video highlights the significant risks that malaria poses to pregnant and breastfeeding women in malaria-endemic regions. It follows the stories of Angavu from Kenya, Moyinoluwa from Nigeria and Lamai from Thailand. It emphasises the severe consequences that malaria can have during pregnancy, i...ncluding miscarriage, stillbirth, low birth weight and maternal death. Due to safety concerns, pregnant women are often excluded from antimalarial drug trials, which causes long delays in effective medicines becoming available for this vulnerable group. To address this issue, the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) launched the Malaria in Mothers and Babies (MiMBa) initiative, which aims to accelerate the discovery, development, and delivery of safe antimalarial treatments for pregnant and breastfeeding women. The initiative aims to close critical gaps in research, drug development, and access, ensuring that these women and their babies are better protected against malaria. The video calls for continued efforts to address the needs of underserved populations most affected by malaria.
