The Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE) provides WHO with rapid and flexible resources to respond to disease outbreaks and other health emergencies. The annual report provides an overview of the use and impact of the Fund over the previous year.
All personnel responding to Ebola outbreaks need to have basic knowledge and skills in order to mount an effective response. The GO training package was developed for WHO deployees so they can work safely and effectively as part of the teams bringing outbreaks under control. The learning package con...sists of 7 modules, which include video lectures and downloadable presentations that have been updated with the latest information and developments. It begins with an introduction to Ebola virus disease before moving to the response strategy and essential information related to working for WHO. Shielding is a term used to describe the protection of individuals at high risk of severe COVID-19 illness by separating them from the general population.
On 19 August 2016, the former UN Secretary-General announced a new approach to cholera in Haiti, consisting of two tracks. Track 1 focuses on reducing cholera transmission, improving access to care, and addressing water, sanitation, and health system issues. Track 2 aims to provide material assistan...ce to those most affected by cholera. The Secretary-General urged Member States to show solidarity with Haiti by increasing contributions. The UN General Assembly, in resolution 71/161, recognized the UN's moral responsibility to cholera victims and called for support to eliminate cholera and address its victims' suffering. The Secretary-General was requested to provide an update on the progress of this approach.

This module carries pre-training entry level assessment as well as hands on exercise manual on Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Geographic Positioning System (GPS) and some applications of these technologies on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) especially for hazard mapping, monitoring a...nd risk assessment module as well as the damage assessment module. Practical manual developed using open source products like Quantum GIS , RStudio, Google Earth Pro and Google Earth Engine.
This module can also can be used by other training facilitators, non-technical professionals and selflearners as well. However, it is strongly recommended that training participants and self-learners already have some basic knowledge of Computer Basic, Geoinformatics and disaster management.

Необходимо пересмотреть существующие националь- ные планы обеспечения готовности и системы управле- ния инцидентами в области общественного здравоохранения, интегрировав в них общегосудар- ственный подход и принцип участия всего общества. Не- смотря на то, что заболевание COVID-19 отличается от гриппа, существующий план обеспечения готовности к пандемии гриппа будет уместной отправной точкой.

Во время предшествующих вспышек, ...вызванных коронавирусами, в том числе коронавирусом ближневосточного респираторного синдрома (БВРС-КоВ) и коронавиру- сом тяжелого острого респираторного синдрома (ТОРС-КоВ), передача от человека к человеку чаще всего происходила капельным путем, при личном контакте и через зараженные предме- ты. Способы передачи 2019-нКоВ, по всей вероятности, те же.
