nd grey literature. Findings were validated and supplemented by consultative provincial roundtable meetings. Punjab’s nutritional puzzle is that it has high levels of chronic malnutrition and micro-nutrient deficiencies despite a surplus production of food and a low poverty level. Under-nutrition is mainly linked to insufficient attention to preventive health strategies and to a lack of connection between relevant sectors such as Education, Health, Poverty, Safe Water and Sanitation, and Food. Strategic opportunities are recommended which include cross-party political support and ownership for nutrition, with steering by executive leadership; multi-sectoral action and functional integration of various departments and programmes with the creation of a central convening structure for effective cross-sectoral coordination; broadening of nutritional activities beyond salt iodization and vitamin A coverage; central co-ordination of monitoring and evaluation and effective partnerships between the state and non-state sector around data production, awareness, advocacy, and monitoring.

Elle va orienter les efforts visant à : accélérer et cibler l’essentiel des actions de prévention en renforçant des approches à la fois comportementales, biomédicales et structurelles ; faciliter l’accès individuel à l’information concernant le statut personnel vis-à-vis des infections sexuellement transmissibles ; améliorer l’accès au traitement et à l’éventail complet des soins de longue durée, le cas échéant ; et combattre la stigmatisation et la discrimination généralisées. Le projet de stratégie encourage une démarche centrée sur la personne et fondée sur les principes des droits fondamentaux, de l’égalité entre les sexes et de l’équité en santé.

Asimismo, guiará los esfuerzos destinados a: acelerar y focalizar las iniciativas de prevención integrales mediante la ampliación de los enfoques comportamentales, biomédicos y estructurales combinados que estén basados en datos científicos; facilitar el acceso de las personas a la información sobre su estado en relación con las ITS; mejorar el acceso a tratamiento y a cuidados integrales a largo plazo cuando sea necesario; y hacer frente a la estigmatización y la discriminación generalizadas. El proyecto de estrategia promueve un enfoque centrado en las personas, basado en los principios de los derechos humanos, la igualdad de género y la equidad sanitaria.
