In 2019, in lower-income settings and in complex emergencies, along the world’s most perilous migration routes, in the aftermath of natural disasters or in response to disease outbreaks, IOM’s health teams have provided hundreds of thousands with primary health-care consultations, mental health and psychosocial support, sexual and reproductive health care, pre-migration health services, and much more.
This year, more than ever before, as the world reels from the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19, we have experienced that health is a cross-cutting component of overall human development and well-being.

The set contains 100 simple, accurate and adaptable health messages, with 10 messages on each of the following topics: Malaria, diarrhoea, nutrition, coughs and colds, intestinal worms, water and sanitation, immunisation, HIV and AIDS, accidents and injuries, and early childhood development. The messages have been reviewed by medical and education experts and are designed for use by parents, teachers and health workers in schools, homes, clinics and clubs. The resource encourages active learning through memorisation, discussion, and creative activities, empowering children to become health educators in their communities.

Drawing on lessons from the EIU’s 2014 European Mental Health Integration Index, this edition index compares the level of effort in each of the countries on indicators associated with integrating individuals suffering from mental illness into society. Data for the Index was collected between March and May 2016. The set of 18 indicators were grouped into four categories.
