On 20 October 2022, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Public Health confirmed the first imported case of cholera in the country.

Les résultats globaux ont montré que la performance médiane de ces laboratoires s'est amélioré...e au cours des quatre cycles. Cependant, la proportion de laboratoires rapportant des cas faussement positifs reste élevée et indique un problème de spécificité probablement dû à une contamination. La proportion de laboratoires rapportant à la fois des résultats faussement positifs et faussement négatifs soulève la question de la qualité des données rapportées par l'OMS en Afrique ainsi que des résultats des études menées dans ces différents laboratoires dans divers pays.

Despite high regional demand for vaccines valued at over US$ 1 billion annually, Africa’s vaccine industry provides only 0.1% of global supply. Vaccine inequity and hoarding at the start of the pandemic, which resulted in delays in obtaining COVID-19 doses, stimulated new resolve to address future... supply security. In 2021, the AU set a target to produce and supply more than 60% of the vaccine doses on the continent by 2040.
In the last 18 months alone, more than 30 new African manufacturing projects have been announced and estimates indicate that the African vaccine market across all existing and projected novel products could range between US$ 2.8 billion and US$ 5.6 billion by 2040*, demonstrating the potential for a thriving regional industry to emerge.

After eight years of armed conflict in the east of the country, the Russian Federation started a military offensive in Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The impact of this war has been devastating. It has so far caused 16,200 civilian casualties and destroyed key infrastructure, such as hospitals, school...s, homes, and water installations.
Since the beginning of the conflict, nearly 14 million people - a third of all Ukrainians - have been forced to leave their homes, 90% of them women, children, and elderly people. An estimated 6.2 million people are displaced within Ukraine, while more than 7 million sought safety in Poland, Romania and Moldova or passed through to other destinations in Europe. Some have returned to Ukraine. Another 13 million people are estimated to be stranded in or unable to leave affected areas within the country.
