Evidence from Low and Middle Income Countries

The Watch List 2021 includes an Introduction, detailed conflict analyses and EU-targeted recommendations on Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Iran & the Gulf, Libya, Mexico & Central America, Nagorno-Karabakh, Somalia, Thailand and Venezuela.

Since the beginning of December a significant increase in the incidence of new cases has been observed particularly along the corridor towards the large urban center of Butembo (health zones of Butembo and Katwa) and beyond in the zone of Kayna health center located about 150 km from Goma. Low and middle income countries (LMICs) are facing an increase of the impact of mental health problems while confronted with limited resources and limited access to mental health care, known as the ‘me...ntal health gap’. One strategy to reduce the mental health gap would be to utilize the internet to provide more widely-distributed and low cost mental health care. We undertook this systematic review to investigate the effectiveness and efficacy of online interventions in LMICs.

The notion of dignity can simply be defined as the inherent and inalienable worth of all human beings irrespective of social status such as race, gender, physical or mental state1. Dignity is deeply embedded in international human rights instruments.
In fact the very first article of the Universal ...Declaration of Human Rights states that “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”2, 3. Protection and respect of human rights are the necessary prerequisites to ensure that people are not stripped of their dignity.
