Le dépistage des infections transmissibles par transfusion (ITT) en vue d’exclure les dons de sang présentant un risque de transmettre une infection du donneur aux receveurs est une étape critique du processus visant à garantir au mieux la sécurité des transfusions. Un dépistage efficace des agents transmissibles par le sang les plus courants et les plus dangereux peut réduire le risque de transmission à des niveaux très faibles. more

Of particular relevance to this group, UNICEF country offices are directed to provide technical support for development and implementation of national AMR action plans, linking them as appropriate to maternal, newborn and child health programmes and ensuring these are prioritized in both surveillance and policy changes. The guidance note on AMR is intended to inform UNICEF’s AMR-related internal initiatives, programming and activities, as well as external engagements with governments and other stakeholders.

Limited research data on the occurrence of resistant organisms in the nation have, makes it hard to estimate the exact antimicrobial resistance (AMR) scenario. Limited peer reviewed evidence indicates significant divergence from the average resistance trends in APAC region. Nevertheless, several key steps by Government of Myanmar have been instrumental in paving the way for the country to join other nations in the South East Asia Region to speed up its plan on addressing the AMR crisis. Combating antimicrobial resistance would, however, require highest political commitment, multi-sectoral coordination, sustained investment and technical assistance.
