Ces normes ont pour objectif de promouvoir des mécanismes de réglementation qui protègent le public (les femmes et leurs enfants) en s'assurant que des sages-femmes compétentes et fiables fournissent des niveaux de soins élevés à chaque femme et à chaque bébé. réglementation vise à aider les sages-femmes à travailler de manière autonome sur l'ensemble de leur champ d'activité. En relevant le statut des sages-femmes par le biais de la réglementation, le niveau des soins de maternité et la santé des mères et des bébés s'en trouveront renforcés.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were launched in September 2015, made up of 17 Goals and 169 Targets that set out a plan of action that will shape the mainstream development agenda for the next 15 years1. There has already been much debate about how these Goals will be achieved, but the sig...nificant issue of drug policy reform has so far been ignored. This briefing aims to address this gap, to support discussions and demonstrate how global drug control policies are a cross-cutting development issue that impact upon a number of the SDGs.

This was a Phase 3, multi-center, randomized, open-label, parallel-group, active control study where 273 male and female patients with first stage Trypanosoma brucei gambiense HAT were treated at six sites: one trypanosomiasis reference center in Angola, one hospital in South Sudan, and four hospita...ls in the Democratic Republic of the Congo between August 2005 and September 2009 to support the registration of pafuramidine for treatment of first stage HAT in collaboration with the United States Food and Drug Administration. Patients were treated with either 100 mg of pafuramidine orally twice a day for 10 days or 4 mg/kg pentamidine intramuscularly once daily for 7 days to assess the efficacy and safety of pafuramidine versus pentamidine. Pregnant and lactating women as well as adolescents were included.

Las adolescentes y las jóvenes se ven especialmente afectadas; en 2015 constituían el 60% de los individuos entre 15 a 24 año...s de edad que vivían con el VIH, representando también el 58% de las infecciones por el VIH de adquisición reciente en los jóvenes de ese grupo de edad. En muchos países las mujeres que viven con el VIH carecen de acceso equitativo a servicios de salud de buena calidad, y enfrentan muchas formas de estigma y discriminación que se entrecruzan. Más aun, estas mujeres son desproporcionadamente vulnerables a la violencia, en particular las violaciones de sus derechos sexuales y reproductivos.

The purpose of the toolkit is to bring together existing learning and guidance as a starting point for stakeholders to begin SRH preparedness work. Within the SRH sector the field of preparedness is relatively new and growing. More collective effort is required to further evaluate the impact of prep...aredness efforts and push the field forward. This effort is a first attempt at a draft guidance for SRH preparedness, and is intended for field testing. The toolkit recognizes the longstanding work of the field of emergency and disaster risk management, and endeavors to bridge that work with the human rights-oriented and peoplecentered field of sexual and reproductive health.
