Menschen ohne legalen Aufenthaltsstatus gehören in Deutschland zur gesellschaftlichen Realität. Die Zahl der Menschen ohne Papiere hierzulande liegt Schätzungen zufolge noch immer zwischen 200.000 und 600.000. Oft gehen diese „Menschen ohne Papiere“ bei einer Erkrankung erst sehr spät zum Ar...zt; aus Angst, entdeckt und abgeschoben zu werden. Nicht selten endet dies im medizinischen Notfall. Vor diesem Hintergrund hat die Bundesärztekammer in Zusammenarbeit mit der Ärztekammer Berlin und unter Mitwirkung des Büros für medizinische Flüchtlingshilfe Berlin das Faltblatt „Patientinnen und Patienten ohne legalen Aufenthaltsstatus in Krankenhaus und Praxis“ erstellt. Es soll Ärzten für die Behandlung von Menschen ohne legalen Aufenthaltsstatus bezüglich der rechtlichen Situation und bei Fragen der Kostenerstattung eine Orientierungshilfe geben. Das Faltblatt wurde redaktionell überarbeitet und ergänzt. So finden sich in der Neuauflage auch Hinweise zur Regelung der ärztlichen Schweigepflicht gegenüber den Sozialämtern und Ausländerbehörden.

Los avances en el tratamiento del cáncer pediátrico han permitido ampliar las iniciativas más allá de la curación y abarcar aspectos como la detección precoz, la continuidad del tratamiento y la reducción de su toxicidad. Todo ello ha abierto paso a una visión más integral del cuidado de lo...s pacientes, lo que supone mejores oportunidades de curación y una vida más plena, objetivos de la Iniciativa Mundial contra el Cáncer Infantil. Dentro de ese cuidado integral, la atención psicosocial incluye las dimensiones social, psicológica, espiritual y funcional del proceso de enfermedad de los pacientes. Esta serie recoge una serie de orientaciones y normas basadas en la evidencia que garantizan la calidad de dicha atención. Las normas son el resultado de la discusión y la revisión de distintos profesionales de América Latina y el Caribe. El módulo 1 se centra en la evaluación psicosocial como estrategia de apoyo a los objetivos de la Iniciativa Mundial contra el Cáncer Infantil y como herramienta para que los profesionales de la salud recaben la información necesaria para ofrecer a estos pacientes un abordaje integral enfocado en el bienestar, la adaptación al proceso de enfermedad y la adherencia al tratamiento.

The domestic regulation of public health emergencies (PHEs) is inextricably linked to the regulation of other types of disaster. PHEs are usually governed at least partly by general disaster and emergency laws. Moreover, there is significant overlap in the legal mechanisms used to respond to PHEs an...d other types of disaster, including the declaration of a state of disaster or emergency and the use of emergency powers. Even where PHEs are regulated by separate instruments, those instruments must surmount many of the same policy and practical challenges as general disaster laws, such as finely balancing competing considerations (e.g. speedy response versus due process), facilitating the coordination of a multitude of actors, and protecting the most vulnerable within society. Finally, many contemporary developments in disaster risk management (DRM), such as a greater emphasis on risk reduction and preparedness, are just as pertinent to PHEs as to other types of disaster.
