This guide presents a standardised set of indicators for monitoring and evaluating social and behavioural change communication (SBCC) programmes targeting malaria control. Based on the first edition, which was published in 2014, this second edition offers a more streamlined set of priority indicators and includes healthcare providers as a target audience. It also expands the range of data sources beyond household surveys. The guide aims to support programme staff, government personnel, researchers and donors in selecting, adapting and using indicators consistently to measure SBCC outcomes. The guide is organised into three sections: an overview of the M&E framework; detailed descriptions of the 17 priority indicators; and annexes containing survey questions and practical tools. While focusing on key indicators, the guide also acknowledges other relevant factors that influence behaviour, encouraging the integration of additional data sources for a more comprehensive evaluation.
