This manual is part of a series of guides devised by the Oxfam Public Health Engineering Team to help provide a reliable water supply for populations affected by conflict or natural disaster. Storage tanks are required for collection of water from springs or water produced from continuous flow water... treatment systems, e.g. from upflow clarifiers or slow sand filters. There should be sufficient storage volume to store all water produced overnight, as this is unlikely to be collected by users during the night. Storage tanks also have secondary functions such as ensuring a constant water supply to treatment processes, providing a level of treatment by settlement of larger suspended solids and maintaining pressure in distribution systems

The Dynamic Data Hub will allow the Commission to analyse migration flows in Europe and related trends and impacts in order to enhance awareness and deepen understanding of potential challenges.
As a platform that gathers pre-processes and filters data, the hub will validate information, highlight ...limitations and put migration data into context. With an evolving data catalogue, the hub will be enriched over time and help policy-makers carry out analyses for improved governance of migration flows and identifying root causes.

American countries rose from an estimated 700,000 in 2015 to over 3 million by late 2018.1 As of June 2019, an estimated 4.3 million Venezuelan’s have left the country since 2015

Sphere has recently updated its Interactive Handbook, making it quicker and easier to browse and access its content.
New features allow users to browse the Handbook in multiple languages, access additional sets of standards, filter and share search results and embed the Handbook into other websites.... This improved platform is an essential resource for humanitarian practitioners looking for guidance across all phases of preparedness and response.
Users have the option of browsing the Interactive Handbook in English, Arabic, French and Spanish. The Handbook is currently being translated into ten more languages, expected to be added to the platform in the coming months. Japanese is due to be the first addition later in 2019.
The online platform now also includes the Minimum Economic Recovery Standards (MERS) Handbook, also available in English, Arabic, French and Spanish. More sets of standards should be added in the coming months.

Biodiversity and healthy natural ecosystems, including protected areas in and around cities, provide ecosystem benefits and services that support human health, including reducing flood risk, filtering air pollutants, and providing a reliable supply of clean drinking water. These services help to red...uce the incidence of infectious diseases and respiratory disorders, and assist with adaptation to climate change. Access to nature offers many other direct health benefits, including opportunities for physical activity, reduction of developmental disorders and improved mental health.

Progress in prevention and treatment is faltering around the world, putting millions of people in grave danger. Eastern Europe and central Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa have all seen increases in annual HIV infections over several years. In Asia and the Pacific, UNAIDS da...ta now show new HIV infections are rising where they had been falling. Action to tackle the inequalities driving AIDS is urgently required to prevent millions of new HIV infections this decade and to end the AIDS pandemic

For patients on HFNO with persistent hypoxaemia or respiratory distress:
• Check the equipment: inspect the exterior of the machine, the tubing (circuit), the prong for any sign of mechanical damage, confirm it fits and the filters are in place. Ensure the settings are appropriate and flow is max...imized.
• Check the oxygen source: there is sufficient oxygen available and flowing through the device. If FiO2 > 50% of oxygen is needed, the device must have a blender.
• Check there is no obstruction with secretions: patients with COVID-19 may have very thick secretions which may block small and large airways and cause sudden respiratory deterioration.

Forests, trees and green spaces, hereinafter ‘forests and trees’ for short, provide multiple goods and services that contribute to human health. These include medicines, nutritious foods and other non-wood forest products (NWFPs). Globally, at least 3.5 billion people use NWFPs, including medici...nal plants, which are particularly important for vulnerable groups and Indigenous Peoples and local communities (IPLCs).
During periods of crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for forest products typically increases amongst these groups. Forests and trees also contribute to better health by playing a role in climate change
mitigation and adaptation, contributing to regulating the carbon cycle, but also moderating the micro-climate, filtering pollutants from the air and protecting settlements against the effects of extreme events such as droughts and flash floods.
