En el Perú, la elaboración de guías de práctica clínica tiene exigencia normativa desde el año
2005; sin embargo, su desarrollo ha ténido poco énfasis en la calidad metodológica de las mismas, prefiriendo el tipo narrativo. Desde hace varios años se realiz...an esfuerzos dispersos para mejorar la calidad metodológica, principalmente que su elaboaración esté basada en evidencias científicas. Actualmente se cuenta con una nueva normativa que pone mayor enfasis en esta exigencia y algunas instituciones ya trabajan para adecuarse a estandares internacionales y poder generar impactos positivos en nuestro sistema de salud a través del adecuado desarrollo de guias de practica clínica en nuestro pais

De acuerdo al informe de ONUSIDA sobre la Epidemia Mundial de sida 2008, se
estima que en el año 2007, 370.000 niños menores de 15 años se infectaron con el
VIH. A nivel mundial, el número de niños menores de 15 años que viven con el VIH
aumentó de 1,6 millones en 2001 a 2 millones en 2...007.
Los efectos de la epidemia entre los niños pequeños son graves y de largo alcance. El sida amenaza con causar un retroceso en los años de progreso constante y en la supervivencia de los niños; ha duplicado la mortalidad infantil en los países más afectados por esta epidemia.

En 2013, una de cada cuatro muertes por TB en todo el mundo estuvo relacionada con el VIH. Desde 2004, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) recomienda el conjunto de intervenciones denominadas «actividades de colaboración TB/VIH». Se han realizado avances significativos en la aplicación a nivel mundial de este conjunto de intervenciones, que permitieron salvar aproximadamente 1,3 millones de vidas entre 2005 y 2011.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) of Syria officially declared a cholera outbreak on 10 September 2022, with the majority of cases reported from Aleppo, Deir-ez-Zor and Al-Hasakeh governorates.
