The Community Health Worker Malaria Social and Behaviour Change Toolkit was developed by the RBM Partnership to End Malaria's Social and Behaviour Change Working Group, in collaboration with Breakthrough ACTION and the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative. This resource provides strategic guidance on integrating social and behavioural change (SBC) content into the training and support of community health workers (CHWs). Aimed at national malaria programmes, implementing partners and other stakeholders, the toolkit is not a standalone training manual, but rather a customisable set of modules designed to enhance the capacity of CHWs in promoting behaviours relating to the prevention, testing and treatment of malaria. It includes six adaptable modules that cover key SBC principles and approaches for CHWs, as well as community mobilisation strategies, the promotion of malaria-related behaviours, the monitoring of behaviours, and supportive supervision. It provides CHW trainers with the practical resources needed to influence health behaviours at community level and strengthen the effectiveness of malaria interventions. Accessed on 03/07/2025.
